| Not shocking at all, this should have been expected. Brandon Weeden experiment will probably come to an end if the get a top 3 pick |

That didn't take long. Thought he'd at least get to the end of the season, but I guess since the Browns aren't looking like contenders, no reason to wait. _________________

| They're calling it a 'retirement at the end of the season' but yeah, Holmgren's being shown the door, and the new guy is CEO effective immediately. |

It's been a poorly kept secret that Holmgren would be gone as soon as Jimmy Haslam officially became owner. Haslam was officially voted in at the NFL owners' meeting today, so it's not a surprise.
Joe Banner has always been the expected successor to Holmgren and will probably take over immediately. _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

He's done nothing to distinguish himself to keep his job, and threw away a 1st round pick on a short term gamble that backfired heavily. _________________

Yeah... and you'd have to think that they'd be looking to trade Weeden as well if that's the case. I mean if I'm a quarterback needy team like... maybe the Eagles (assuming they finish with a record that keeps them from getting a top guy), why not trade for a guy like Weeden who's proven he can be at worse a capable option. I think a 3rd/4th round pick would probably be enough. With McCoy as a backup, no need to keep Weeden around.
Browns could then re-start their QB position by going after Geno Smith. _________________

I assume that you are referring to the Brandon Weeden Pick. Saying that the pick backfired 6 games into his rookie season might be a bit harsh.
Neither happy nor sad to see Holmgren go. If this (really young) team does go on to be successfuly, it is a shame that he will not be around to reap the rewards.
I hope that Heckert sticks around. |

Are you referring to Weeden, the QB who has played much better than average for the last 5 games? _________________ Never looking back, or too far in front of me.

You and I have vastly different ideas of average. _________________

The last 5 games he has 1400 yards 7 tds and 6 ints. hes also on pace to break cams passing record for a rookie. _________________
