Ray Lewis placed on the reserve/injured - designated for return. That's a very important end there. It means he can possibly come back.

Hmmm... thought you could only place one guy on this IR list? Guess I thought Suggs was on it... was he on the PUP list? Just curious....
Is there actually a chance he returns?

Suggs was on the PUP list, not on the IR list. He's also activated from the PUP list now...

Suggs was PUP'd.
And yes, there's a chance that Ray can return, albeit very slight. DB24 on our forum did a breakdown based on estimated recovery times that showed that if Ray hits every optimistic milestone, he may be able to start lifting weights again mid December and potentially return for playoffs. If he isn't as far along as hitting each optimistic milestone, there's still a chance he could return for an AFCCG or Super Bowl game if we make it that far.

Suggs was only on PUP, so the Ravens still have that IR/R spot available. But I'm not sure they'd be so quick to use it on a guy who medical reason says should be out for a lot longer than January.
It would be a fairytale end to the season if the Ravens got to the Superbowl and somehow Ray was able to come in and play (though not a fairytale for whoever got cut to open up the roster spot, of course), but it's certainly not likely. |

It's something he's been playing with. He already can't tackle that intensely because of his neck issue. He's still been great at taking away big plays in the passing game, and of course his ball-hawking gives opposing QB's pause on every throw.
This probably will be/should be his last season, he's got so many lingering issues from playing. |
