I say 10-6 missing the wildcard by 1 game.
Might just be the homer in me but... smh |

Serious? We will be an improved team after our first win and bye, but no chance we only lose two more games.
My prediction:
7 NO @ TB W
8 NO @ DEN L
9 PHI @ NO W
10 ATL @ NO L
11 NO @ OAK W
12 SF @ NO L
13 NO @ ATL L
14 NO @ NYG L
15 TB @ NO W
16 NO @ DAL L
17 CAR @ NO W
Would make a 6-10 record. Not very optimistic, but a pretty tough schedule ahead of us. All those division games could go in another direction... So I say a 8-8 record is possible, but also a 4-12 record... |

I think we'll have a much better idea after we play TB.
With the rumored play of Hawthorne and Vilma, both healthy, for the first time this season, we'll see if it improves the D. And the D overall.
If our DE's can get pressure on the QB, and stop the run. If our secondary learns to cover someone.
We'll have a much better team if we can fix issues on the D. We'll see if any apparent improvement against SD was legit or if they just shot themselves in the foot enough. _________________

Did I miss something? I thought the suspensions were upheld thus making Vilma a football ghost. _________________

I see 7-9 with us winning the final 3 and going into the draft at 14. I think this defense will get better but not until week 15. _________________

I think they can pull this off
7 NO @ TB W
8 NO @ DEN w
9 PHI @ NO W
10 ATL @ NO L
11 NO @ OAK W
12 SF @ NO L
13 NO @ ATL L
14 NO @ NYG w
15 TB @ NO W
16 NO @ DAL W
17 CAR @ NO W
9-7
* Denver has a amazing Defense, But not much on off (besides Peyton)
*Vick has a Int. and Fumble problem
*Atl can always go either way, and if the raiders can give them trouble
*Giants play well, but always it can be a shoot out
*Bucs have struggled a bit, but are a physical team
*Cowboys always seem to find a way to loose in the fourth.
*Panthers seem to have their own set of problems
To me 9-7 is not a bad place to be, since the last two superbowl champs were 9-7. If the Saints can get hot at the right time, the would be in great timing to do it before the playoffs. |

I agree with this... I say 7-9 or 8-8. No playoffs and outside the top 10 picks somewhere inbetween 14-18 overall making this draft a very tough one to call in round 1 for us.
Most have us drafting a DE in round 1 but if we land between 14-18 like i suspect im not sold that a dE will be the pick due to BPA. _________________

It really sucks things didn't go our way the first 3 games. We realistically should be 3-2 right now and we're likely going to end up at 7-9 or 8-8 which sucks because we're out of the playoffs and out of the top draft picks We need an elite DE in the worst way. _________________

True dat but picking at 14-18 our choice very well could come down to the 4-5 best defensive lineman or a top safety, corner or offensive tackle.
thats why i dont think a DE is a lock for us in round one... i think the saints want an instant impact player and will likley look to FA to add a younger speed rusher to fill Will Smith's role.
Michael Johnson, Cliff Avril or Michael Bennett could all be on their radar. _________________

Hopefully we can clear up the cap space, with the VERY limited amount of talented DEs in the league their price is only going up. _________________

I trust in Mickey Loomis... In all honesty Harper41 this is what I see happening this offseason.
1. Saints let some popular but aging defensive players with hefty contracts go.
2. Saints need not 1 but 2 new young pass rushers and land a starter in FA then trade 3rd rounder and player to move up into 2nd round to draft another pass rusher and take advantage of the depth of this class at the position.
3. doing all this allows us to take BPA in round 1... to many people think that DE is our only need, YES its our biggest need but not our only need. Players like OT Luke Joeckel, WR Justin Hunter, CB Jonathan Banks, FS Eric Reid and LB Manti Te'o could all be game come that pick if the top elite edge rushers are off the board. _________________

6-10.
We aren't winning many games if we are only hitting the QB once every 506 series. _________________

Heres my predictions
7 NO @ TB W
Tampa Bay is bad, definitely a winnable game.
8 NO @ DEN W
This defense is overrated but Peyton Manning will obviously keep them competitive.
9 PHI @ NO W
Vicks been miserable, and this is one of the few OLs we might be able to get pressure against
10 ATL @ NO W
We almost always split with Atlanta.
11 NO @ OAK W
Oakland might be the worst team in the league.
12 SF @ NO L
This game looks much more winnable now, the 49ers offense will lose them games.
13 NO @ ATL L
Slim chance we beat ATL in ATL.
14 NO @ NYG L
Could go either way but JPP will make Bushrod is female dog.
15 TB @ NO W
Tampa Bay still sucks...
16 NO @ DAL W
This team is just a mess and we have a good history against them
17 CAR @ NO W
We aint' losing to this team on our own turf.
That leaves us at 9-7 but we could definitely take one from NYG or SF, we're still alive in the post-season hunt and I'm not giving up hope that we can snag a wildcard. _________________
