Coming off a 30-7 loss to the Vikings, Tennessee will take a trip home to go up against the Steelers on Thursday Night Football, where they'll get a chance to play on national TV for the first time in Munchak's tenure...
TNF, Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tennessee Titans.
Location: LP Field, Nashville.
Time: Oct. 11, 8:20 E.S.T.
TV: NFL Network
@
There's a lot of talk with regards to the Titans this year: Are they the worst team in football? Or are they the second worst team in football? Well ladies and gentlemen this game might just settle that argument... In five games, the Titans defense has surrendered at least 30 points to opposing teams and in four of those five games lost by more than 20 points. Hopefully they dress a little sharper for this one, especially with this guy back in the mix.
Pittsburgh is coming off a monumental last-second win against their PA rivals, and has now gotten themselves back to .500 after dissapointing AFC West losses to the Raiders and Broncos. They'll have to do so this week without safety Troy Polamalu, who suffered an ankle injury last weekend. Despite a less than stellar start to the season, Steeler nation has stayed strong.
After such a pathetic performance last week, and mostly all season really, word has it that Munchak is thinking of a new strategy for this weeks game. The team and staff will simply stay on the bus.
And hold a team barbecue during the game instead
With some of this...
And plenty of this...
Might not be a bad idea, I mean after all the days of the ferocious Titans are gone for now. When we used to have players like this... Ahh the memories...
According to Chris 'Wheres my money' CJ2K Johnson, he's doing all he can to try to get his team back on track.
"We need somebody in this locker room to make plays and give us a spark," Johnson said. "I feel like I've made some plays, but the situation of a spark has got to come from somewhere and getting a spark that can be big for this team."
No doubt there
In five games:
73 rushing attempts - 210 yards rushing - 2.9 YPC
It's hard to imagine that spark will come from veteran QB Matt Hasselbeck, who will make his second consecutive start and is now entering his 47th year in the NFL.
Can the Titans keep this one close? Probably not.

Big Ben will throw for 4 touchdowns, Hasselbeck will throw for at least one Pittsburgh touchdown, and CJ will probably get negative yards and then say "I made some plays, man" while violently twitching his head back and forth.
Pittsburgh 38
Tennessee 13 (TD in garbage time, Rusty Smith to Cookie )
I need a new sig. |

At this point, making a respectable game is all I can hope for from the Titans.
Options should be "blow out" or "kept it close".
Done caring for a team that doesn't care themselves. _________________

Knowing this team we'll probably win, and win a few others, just enough to push us out of any useful spot of helping a quick rebuild (as Fish & STL should be on the road to the next couple years).
....or worse we finish 8-8 with a massive second half surge. urgh.
Guessing surprise 24-23 win, based off a steady Hasselbeck game - 50 pass attempts, Harper our leading rusher and Kluuuuuuuuug finishing off R-berger a couple times after he avoids being taken down for 30 seconds multiple times. |

Once again, high ankle sprains are nothing to play with. I'm surprised he's even come back this soon. _________________

I'll be there! Undefeated when I do
But not really I've only been to one blowout when we lost to the Cowboys like 41-14 and TO stomped us. I'll be rooting us on nonetheless. _________________

Positives going into the game...
Titans play at home...
Polamalu is out...
I'm trying to remain optimistic about this game... but I just don't see how the D stops Ben... nor how this Hasselbeck led offense could even try to keep up... (after seeing him last week, I am convinced he is done... nothing left in the tank... cannot throw the ball accurately past 5 yards... not from the LOS... but from he stands)...
If Locker was starting, I'd go on one of my crazy rants about how we could actually win this game. Barring a monumental collapse by the Steelers, we lose this one from the first snap. _________________

Here's to hoping McCarthy remembers how to avoid a fullback and make form tackles. _________________

Titans 21
Steelers 20
The Titans will be down 17-0 at halftime, coaching staff decides to throw Rusty in after Hasslebeck throws for 100 yards on 30 attempts. The team rallies around him and throttles the Steelers in the 2nd half to win it.
Im gonna make 2 BOLD PREDICTIONS for this game.
1) Either Kamerion Wimbley or Derrick Morgan gets a sack.
2) Taylor Thompson builds off his thrilling performance in 4th quarter against the Vikings and catches another pass. |
