I know its been said that he cant grasp the playbook, but its already week 7 and he hasn't impacted a game once in any way shape or form..
he was taken ahead of..
Ashlon Jeffery
Stephen Hill
Ryan Broyles
Rueben Randle
Mohammad Sanu
Chris Givens ( Nice Pick For Us ) |

We knew he was raw coming out. To my knowledge Randle, Broyles, and AJ Jenkins (picked before Quick) have also done very little. _________________

Football I.Q.. He just seems lost/nervous out there.
Dude must be sharting his pants. Has made a few tough
catches though. He should have had that TD yesterday.
Had his man beat but had no sense of where he was.
You can straight out tell he has talent.
The features and strength. We are just
grooming him.. No need to throw him
out there yet. Givens and DR have been
dynamic however. Givens is a blessing for
this lack luster O. _________________

I'd rather have Quick over any of those guys, even if it takes him awhile to develop and grasp the game. Especially over Stephen Hill, he might have cost the Jets the game yesterday with an embarrassing drop.
We just have to be patient with him and good things should happen. We knew this before drafting him. _________________ Adopt-a-Ram: Brian Quick - 11 receptions, 156 yards, 2 TDs |

The few times Ive seen STephen Hill imo hes been good for a rookie. One mistake doesnt change that. _________________

Hes just very raw and the offense is far far far far far more complex than the one he played in at App State. _________________

He's only played in a few games due to injury. I honestly haven't watched much of him and when I did yesterday, he hurt his team very much with a drop. It was a problem in college with Georgia Tech. We don't need that. _________________ Adopt-a-Ram: Brian Quick - 11 receptions, 156 yards, 2 TDs |

I'd say at this point, it's not that he can't grasp the playbook, it's that he's not mentally ready yet. It's not just memorizing the play-book. I'm sure Quick knows the plays. But you have to be able to read the defense and react almost on instinct. If you saw him against Miami, the play called for him to run a double move but with the blitz, Sam had to throw a hot route. Quick didn't read the blitz and Sam had to throw the ball at his feet because of it.
That's not a lack of understanding the playbook. That's him not having a strong grasp of how to read defenses and how the play changes based on their looks.
It's not surprising he's struggling with this. It was high-lighted after the draft that he barely had a play-book at App. State. The NFL game is extremely complex. It takes a lot of young WRs time to catch on. Look at Brandon Marshall, Isaac Bruce, Cris Carter, etc.
Hopefully, he'll be ready at some point in the 2nd half of the season because he shows the physical tools while on the field. _________________

| He will be fine. Give him time. Look at Jordy Nelson, great example, 2nd round guy who was real quite his first 3 or so years and since the first game if last year only Rob Gronkowski has more touchdown receptions. And Quick has a steeper grade to climb because of the school he came from. WR is a hard position to dive into and have success. |

He's a rookie WR. Nothing is wrong with him.
Give him a year or two before we start asking questions. _________________
