yea im bored so this is my bye week mock
Oakland keeps cp at a discount rate and channels their inner Patriot and trades the 2nd overall pick (yes I passed on jarvis jones) to KC(who wants gino smith ala rg3 after barkley goes #1) for their 7th, 38th and 71st pick. Oakland then trades the #7th pick to Buff (who really wants Tyler Wilson) for their #13 and #75. Which now gives the rebuilding Raiders picks.
#13(via buff) [first rd]
#38 (via kc) [2nd rd]
#64 (oak), #69 (kc), #75 (buff) [3rd rd]
#98 (oak) [4th rd]
got it......good. here we go.
with milliner gone at #12
at #13 OAK selects Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M, 65 305, 4.98 (yard dash)
- this is imo the bpa and he fills a need. Whoever the qb is will need more protection period and Jake can play RT from day 1. Great bookends with JV,
at #38 OAK selects Sean Porter, DE/ OLB, Texas A&M, 62 230, 4.5 (yard dash)
- going back to A&M we pick up von miller jr lol. I think we switch to the 3-4 and porter can be the OLB pass rushing specialist. He has good speed and tackling skills. Poor mans Jarvis jones.
at #64 OAK selects Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington, 6ft 184, 4.42 (yard dash)
- this is another bpa pick the fills a need. Desmond is a good quality CB who can play man or zone.
at #69 OAK selects Cornelius Tank Carradine, DE, Florida St, 64 265, 4.64 (yard dash)
- Luckily due to injury to Jenkins, Carradine got some play and has shown skills. he is a great pass rusher to pick up. He has great pass rushing skills and can play 4-3 de or 3-4 olb. Ill also settle for Jenkins, Brandon.
at #75 OAK selects Jordan Poyer, CB, Oregon St, 6ft 190, 4.45 (yard dash)
- back to the pac 12 for more cb help. Jordan is another solid CB who could push to start with our weak dbs.
at #98 OAK selects Kwame Geathers, NT, Georgia, 66 ft 350, 5.55 (yard dash)
- here he is the 3-4 NT we have been waiting for. Kwame is a big ugly that will sit in the middle of the line and clog it like a fat girl in a mini cooper. Now we can move to 3-4.
what you think?
we move to a 3-4
s - huff and branch
cb - trufant and bartell/spencer
olb - porter and carradine
ilb - curry and rolo
de - houston and bryant
nt - Kwame
lt- jv
lg- beisel
c- wiz
rg- bergstrom
rt - matthews
qb- cp
rb- dmac
fb- reese
wr- dhb, moore
te- myers
you're welcome we are saved _________________

Poyer is sure fire 1 high 2. Kid is a top 5 CB on everyone's list.
Love the player, but he's going to be a high pick. _________________

I think its best, when making a mock to not try and project trades, as they arent incredibly frequent. I also believe if we are bad enough to get Geno Smith we will not pass on him, especially to sell him to a rival. |

that would be boring
towards draft time ill do one without trades.
i would trade down at all cost we have to many holes to fill not to mention depth picks. behind this line with knapp, gino will not do well imo. not a good time for us to draft a qb. _________________

Logistics: Division rivals never make major trades with one another. People don't like trades (even though my up coming mock has one). They will never swallow a double trade.
Prospects: Love Tank. You will see him in my mock although imo he is not athletic enough to stand up in a 34. Iirc, in all the film I have seen on him I have yet to see him stand up a la Brandon Jenkins. Jenkins could slip in this draft why not draft him over Trufant? Love Matthews as I have used him in a mock this season. Respectfully high on Geathers although I'm unsure he comes out he will try to capitalize on a senior season sans Jon Jenkins.
Roster Moves: I'm not against the move to a 34 at all as I don't see how else the Raiders will generate more edge pressure in 2013. I almost went this way in my mock. Jenkins at OLB would be an excellent start. Personally I think McClain is comfortable carrying more weight and I would move him to OLB and resign Wheeler.
Starters: Jenkins, Wheeler,Curry, McClain
Backups: Clayton, Goethel, Burris, So'oto
Apparently, we both believe Bergstrom isn't comfortable on the left but Brisiel has spent a career on the right. Ultimately I envision Bergstrom settling in as the 2nd string RG (which I am VERY ok with) and RT in a pinch. So you still have a fundamental gaping hole at LG.
WARNING: I have done my research and LG will be a difficult position to fill in 2013 as the market is lean both in the draft and FA.
Remember you started it. My mock is coming soon! Please tear it down accordingly. _________________

-yea i know just playing the draft chart value #'s game. given the rg3 impact i think kc might be open to a trade

-id be happy with jenkins. i think tank can stand up if needed but if we go nickle he can put a hand in the dirt. imo at 3-4 olb he would be good vrs the run. I wanted david the cb from nc state but for this trade down mock trufant was a good mid round value pick. Matthews is a solid bookend beast. i also hope geathers comes out. seeing how chapman slid last year id be happy if geathers was on the board in the mid rounds.
Roster Moves: I'm not against the move to a 34 at all as I don't see how else the Raiders will generate more edge pressure in 2013. I almost went this way in my mock. - maybe its the madden in me but id wanna trade down no matter who is on the board. we have too many holes to fill. i like jenkins but i like more picks a little bit more.

-I have no idea about OG's for us I just hope beisel and bergstrom wake up and become decent at least.
Remember you started it. My mock is coming soon! Please tear it down accordingly.
-ill be checking for it equipped with the animated gifs

Check the film on Carradine again. He isn't very stout in the run game at all. He will begin his career as a situational edge rusher. With the way FSU used Jenkins don't you think if Carradine could stand up they would use him in that manner at least SOME time?
Are you seriously telling me you would take Porter over Jenkins at #38??? and you plan on running a 34?
Chapman (just saying his name makes me ill) fell due to lack of size and a knee. Provided he is healthy clearly he will go higher next season than in 2013 as Geathers will be viewed as THE NT. _________________

If thats what happens, we better get more out of that #2 pick than that, and they moved back 1 less spot. The Rams got 3 1sts and a 2nd. Obviously a lot of the value will be determined by just how special scouts think Smith is. If they feel he is on the same level as RGIII, then that pick would be worth a lot more than a 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
That said, I am a fan of Desmond Trufant. |

-id swap tank with jenkins.
-I like porter a lot he can play lb in nickle or 3-4 olb. he is really dangerous and fast off the edge. also dont sleep on the fact that he faces those stud ot's from tex a&m everyday in practice for the last few yrs. i read a really good article about their battles in practice.
-i think tank would fare better vrs the run standing up as a 3-4 olb than a 4-3 de but i agree right now he is jus a pass rushing specialist in the nfl.
-yea as the year plays out we will know more about the prospects. this is just my extremely rough draft-we suck and im bored-mock. _________________

i looked at the draft pick value sheet to determine possible trade values.
im high on desmond and i like bloodline players
