I'm starting the see more of these posts along the lines of "Watt was the best all along, we just couldn't crown him right away" and I don't agree with it. Watt was great in 2011, but he wasn't what he is this year and he didn't play as well as Ngata or Smith. |
Fair enough. I'm not going to pretend that I watched a whole lot of him last year, but when I did, I was thoroughly impressed. That cinci game was scary, he absolutely rag dolled that line from the first play to the last play of the game. So I'm not surprised to see how much he's improved and how well he's doing this year. You don't want to hear the hipster football version of "I knew all along and he was all that" hype.

Look for Antonio Smith to bring it as well against GB. |
Aw sheet, he's going SSJ4. |

I guess my question is, what MORE can the guy do? What is it that would lead to him reaching his "peak" that he isn't doing now? At present, he's getting multiple sacks a game, multiple pressures a game, tackles for losses, 2-3 batted balls at the LOS...what can feasibly be next for the guy?
If he starts picking off passes on a game-by-game basis, I give up. I'm not worthy to be a fan of this man. | The only thing I can think of is if he deflects 2-3 passes in every game (no PDs in 2 games) then we can just give him the MVP. _________________

| I love seeing Watt ball out, I remember telling my pops he should be a top 5 pick...he's the best defensive player in the game! |

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but if no one breaks out offensively and Watt keeps playing at this level, is there any chance he could win MVP? _________________

Only chance he would have is by breaking the sack record and hoping Matt Ryan eventually slows down. |

He would have to break the sack record, and even then it wouldn't be a lock. |

According to Pro Football Reference, the record for PDs by a defensive lineman is 11. Only 21 defensive lineman have ever defended more passes in an entire season than Watt's 8 after five games. _________________ Shut up, NBT |

...to be honest, don't think it's a knock on Rice. All you need to do is hit up Freebirds World Burritos, and you'll get what Watt is talking about. The Super Monster? That thing is massive, can feed a family of 10 for about two weeks... _________________
