If you're like me, and didn't know what the Harlem shake was prior to this, enlighten yourself and embrace this as the greatest thing ever. |

I tried to convince them it wasn't just a video.
As you can see, it didn't work. |

I don't know how many of you guys caught it earlier in the week, but this Dorner character included referencing the Jets as a circus and Rex Ryan as a "reality show star" in his crazy manifesto he posted on Facebook.
Just the idea of that made me think about what a one year period this has been for a Jet fan, from February 2012-Febrary 2013. When you think of the whole sequence together, it really has been unbelievable. I couldn't even remember it all without typing it out, so here it is:
Last February, in a nightmare scenario, the Giants defeat the Patriots once again for another Superbowl championship, giving their fans license to taunt the Jets all offseason long.
Later in the month, the Jets pursue Peyton Manning only to be quickly dismissed. The FO responds by signing Mark Sanchez to a contract extension, and Woody claims in embarrassing fashion that the Jets "passed" on Manning.
Two weeks later, the Jets make the trade for Tim Tebow, and send the media into a frenzy. Tebow arrives in a private jet and gives a State of the Union style press conference in Florham Park.
The next log on the fire was the selection of Quentin Coples in the first round of the draft in late April. The Jets get slammed for gambling on a player who was accused of quitting on his college team during his final season. The message boards debate the topic all offseason.
Training camp begins, and ESPN sets up shop in Cortland to report on every move Tebow makes, causing fans of other teams to resent the Jets even more. Within a couple weeks, seemingly every player on offense suffers a bad hamstring, and the Jets fail to score a touchdown in their first three preseason games. Wayne Hunter gets abused by the Giants DL in the third game so badly that he's not allowed to take the field in the preseason finale at home due to the fury directed towards him of the home crowd, and is traded a few days later to the Rams for Jason Smith.
Barely a month into the regular season, the best player on the team, Darrelle Revis, tears his ACL in a game against Miami. Shortly thereafter, the best veteran WR on the team, goes out for the year with a weird foot injury. Sione Pouha and Dustin Keller barely play the rest of the season with nagging injury issues.
On Thanksgiving night, the Jets play NE in the Primetime game. They hold their own for the first quarter, but shortly into the second, manage to find a way to give up 21 points in the course of about one minute of playing time. Part of sequence includes a blooper highlight that will never go away, the "Buttfumble".
In the aftermath of that debacle, Sanchez responds in his first play of the following game by thowing an interception in the middle of the field from the twenty yard line. Rex Ryan benches him in the third quarter- but not for Tebow Time. Greg McElroy takes the field instead. Sanchez gets his starting position back on the road in the following weeks, but continues to be atrocious, and McElroy is named the starter over Sanchez and Tebow for the last home game of the year. Tebow demands to be traded or released.
Unfortunately, McElroy suffers a concussion in his one start and Sanchez gets another opportunity, only to put one last disgusting effort on film. The Jets lose to the lowly Bills, and GM Mike Tannenbaum is fired the next day.
The coaching staff is left dangling in the wind as the Jets go on an exaustive search for a new GM, which takes several weeks. During which time, it's decided that Rex should lay low. Shockingly, that's not what occurs. First, he runs red light in PA while driving a Mustang and crashes into another driver. A week later, a fan posts a picture of him on Twitter arriving in the Bahamas, which alerts the media to his whereabouts. The Daily News dispatches a photographer to follow him, and they publish a picture of him shirtless on the beach on the front and back pages, pointing out the tattoo of his wife wearing a Sanchez jersey. This goes on just a few days before the introduction of John Idzik as GM.
And here the Jets are this week, somehow coming up in this lunatic's ranting about what's wrong with the world. I guess it could have been worse if he was a fan. _________________

^Well that's embarrassing.
Should we start a Jets forum fantasy baseball league? I know a lot of other team forums on here run leagues. _________________
