| Quote: | Lions at Eagles
MDS’s take: If the Lions’ defensive linemen were playing as well as their reputations (and their paychecks) say they should, I’d pick Detroit to force a bunch of Michael Vick turnovers and win this game. But the Lions just aren’t getting the kind of pressure you have to get to make Vick make mistakes, and so the Eagles will take this one.
MDS’s pick: Eagles 24, Lions 17.
Florio’s take: The Lions think they can recapture last year’s attitude simply by wanting to. It’s not that easy, especially when the team remains flawed on both sides of the ball. The Eagles have more talent — enough to overcome Mike Vick’s inevitable mistakes.
Florio’s pick: Eagles 24, Lions 17. |

Mike's Mistake. Marty Mor-something.
MM is a common theme.
Fantastic gif Marky. And while I want to upgrade Kurt in the offseason, I don't think PA owned him against Pittsburgh, atleast. _________________

True, but choosing to kick off in overtime - that takes the biscuit _________________

There is no face palm that can encompass the idiocy of that "strategy." Big time fail on MM's part, and most likely the major reason why he'll never be an NFL HC again. Fitting for this week's GDT, as he was DET's coach at the time. _________________

Nnamdi didn't sound happy about them "abandoning the gameplan" to cover Fitz after the game against Arizona.
To say the least, it was a horrible decision by the coaches. _________________

Why would you ever abandon a game plan that needed to be implemented? Especially when what you abandoned it for is a horrible idea (multiple DBs on Fitz, no press coverage). _________________

Nnamdi should shadow Megatron the entire game regardless of where he lines up. Nate Allen should bracket coverage to where ever Johnson's lines up at all times. At no time should Boykins, Hughes or Marsh be 1-1 with Calvin at any point in this game. _________________

I'm guessing the new game plan is just telling Coleman to ignore play action _________________

If you guys survive this game and go into the bye week 4-2 you have to consider it a HUGE success considering how many times you have turned the ball over this season
And there is a more than legit chance you can be one up on both the Cowboys and Giants with two tough opponents they have to take on in the Ravens and 49ers
But I'm kind of nervous about this game for you guys because of another team coming off a bye week that is desperate for a win. In this case even more desperate because if the Lions lose this game their season is basically over. |
