So--this guy came in with some promise..what happened ?/ Carolina cut him and now he is in Burgundy and Gold.. Maybe he can develop and help us.. We sure need it .. I did notice he got in the game against The Falcons .. Anyone have any inside info on this guy.. ? | From what I've read about him when we signed him he's bounced around a lot and hasnt proved much. Maybe he shows enough to stick around, but I doubt it. _________________ RIP SSF mike23md

Doughty had the deep coverage on the TD pass to Jones -- blew it bigtime.. I've been a fan, kinda --but he is awful. |

That's like getting on Doughty for not stoping Andre Johnson in a one on one jump ball in 2010 vs the texans. No db in the league would have stopped either wr from making that catch. Sometimes great Wrs make great catches and there is nothing a db is going to do about it. _________________ RIP SSF mike23md

It was a great catch and those seem to happen to us everyweek.. Still if he had been closer and hit him as the pass arrived -- it could have been defended.. |

I don't think Meriweather would have been close, Landry wouldn't have been. Josh Wilson was but he couldn't make a play on the ball because of where Ryan put it. Ryan put it where only Julio could catch it. _________________ RIP SSF mike23md

Landry would have hit Jones instead of playing the ball. Not many CB's could have defended that pass.
Reed Doughty has been a great back up. His pass coverage is terrible, but he is awesome in the run support. He tackles well and is disciplined in run defense. Rather have him than Gomes who seems vulnerable in both aspects. _________________

Read today he played like 40 snaps..but came out late with a concussion.. No report as to his availability -- Guess he'll go thru the same as RG3 did.. but being a safety -- he 's likely gonna be out this week. He'll obviously take some head hits. |

Doughty didn't show up on the Wednesday injury list.
FULL PARTICIPATION:
Fred Davis
Saverio Rocca (?!?)
LIMITED PARTICIPATION:
Stephen Bowen
Barry Cofield
London Fletcher
Cedric Griffin
DeAngelo Hall
Jordan Pugh
Doug Worthington
DID NOT PARTICIPATE:
Pierre Garcon
David Jones
OUT (DEFINITELY WON'T PLAY):
Brandon Meriweather
So the question is: can we actually field a defense come Sunday? |
