Haha, it would be nice. Peyton also was a positional coach for the Eagles iirc. There will be a lot of competition for him for sure. _________________

I think they get fired Friday if they do, after the Colts game. No point in firing Gene midseason though. _________________

What I said earlier in NFL General:

It is what it is. You all will continue to defend Gabbert but he sucked today. The stats may show a decent game as he got some yards and TD on prevent d.
He may horrible throw after horrible throw.
He has room to grow for sure |
How am I defending Gabbert? I'm saying to throw as much blame on him as is being done is ridiculous. I don't view him as doing either well or bad today. He didn't get opportunity to do anything until the second half when the game was already decided. At that point though, he performed well despite having two interceptions (one of which was clearly not his fault and the other one is more attributable to Blackmon than Gabbert, but nonetheless has to be held accountable on Gabbert's end). He continues to get the ball out quick and decisively and showcase a talented arm. The coaching staff needs to call plays EARLY in the game more often though to show it and guys need to hang on to the ball and be aware (looking/expecting the ball, route recognition, getting feet in bounds are ALL huge areas of poor execution at this point in time). |
We NEED to open it up early. Don't wait until we've already had multiple 3-and-outs and are down by three possessions. _________________

The one improvement I've seen from Blaine lately is when he escapes the pocket, hes keeping his eyes down the field looking to throw, rather than run. He never did this at Mizzou.
O-Line has been playing well lately but we need to address it in FA/Draft. Only O-Lineman I have confidence in is Monroe and Uche. Brewster has been playing very well at LG though.
I'm hoping we can add a guy on offense that has great speed. Our RB's, WR's and TE's are just slow. I want a gamebreaker. A guy that can take it to the house anytime he touches the ball. We don't have many guys that get YAC. _________________

We should trade for Mike Thomas. _________________

I'm not going to say i 'really like' what i've seen from Gabbert lately, but there are some positive signs and the latter quote is so true. I just want to see the team fully commit to this direction we're allegedly headed. That being, the idea that we are striving to become a 'modern team' with an aggressive offense that can move the ball through the air. So let's see it...and not late in garbage time like today...i want to see it from the opening possession. Finding out if Gabbert is up to the task, and if our o-line and receiving corps can hold up, should basically be the highest priority at this point. Time to take the training wheels off. |

Ill give gabbert the rest of the year but to be honest I just dont see him being the guy. Yeah I have liked what i have seen the past few weeks. The Jags might be more effective if we start learning the fast pace offense Oregon uses. I am not talking about the option offense i am talking about just getting on the line and getting a play off. Oregon from the second the player is tackled they get the snap off in about 10 seconds. That way we wont face the blitz it will be your standard 4 man rush and let Gabbert pick them apart. _________________
