This is the first time since the beginning of last decade that the 49ers had back to back winning seasons with 10+ wins and playoff births. The last time this happen was the 2001 and 2002 seasons when they won 12 & 10 games respectively.
What the world was like the last time the 49ers were a top NFL team:
Gas prices in 2002: $1.36 a gallon
Number one Song in US: Nickel Back- "How you remind me"
Top TV shows: CSI, American Idol, Joe Millionaire, and Everybody loves Raymond
Top Movies: Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Austin Powers Goldmember, and Signs.
Other random notes:
Ted Williams had his head cut off and placed in a jar along with his family so they could be reunited in the future.
Michael Jackson was dangling his baby off a balcony in Germany.
Rosie O'Donald came out of the closet.
Chad Pennington was the top rated passer in 2002 and the Houston Texans were born in 2002.
The quote "what happens in vegas stays in vegas" was coined in 2002.
Barry Bonds and steroids were alive and well in baseball.

Even more depressing for me, considering I was being 3.5 times that price for gas here in Canada...

Interesting facts man. The phone thing trips me out on how at that time phones were getting smaller and now we dont even carry phones anymore, we have mini computers with phone capabilities.
obviously the gas thing. man oh man
