I've been posing this question for a while...and it seems to get lost in other threads, so I figured I'd let it have its own topic.
So let's have it...who are some coaches out there who you would like to see take over the playcalling duties for the Dallas Cowboys? _________________

I don't see Norv getting fired...but if he did, I'd welcome him openly. _________________

This is what I posted in the CHI-DAL game day thread.
I would love to see a WCO OC come in. The line can't protect, so incorporate a lot of 3- and 5-step drops with the WRs running slants, fades, and quick outs. Also, it means using the RB and FB in the passing game.
Combine that with a tough running game. While the OL can't really open up holes, WCO coordinators tend to stick with the run and will run out of different formations. Not sure who would fit the bill, but maybe someone like Ben McAdoo, who is the QB coach for Green Bay; Doug Pederson of Philadelphia; or Chad O'Shea of New England. These teams incorporate a lot of WCO principles in their offence, although I would prefer O'Shea given NE focuses on creating balance in their offence.
Another philosophy would be Tom Moore's offence, which uses a lot of skinny posts, seam routes, and quick outs in the passing game while the running game uses a lot of stretch plays. Karl Dorrell of Houston would be a prime candidate. _________________

I asked in the SD forum. They all pretty much said if he doesnt win at least 1 playoff game, he is toast. _________________

| Not gonna happen, unless Garrett is fired, so what's the point. |

He already hired a co-offensive coordinator and according to Slam, Stephen Jones wants to hire one.
Do you have any proof or is that just your opinion? _________________

Ya never know.
TSSS, I think O'Shea and Dorrell would be interesting candidates.
Maybe snag Tom Ratham away from San Francisco? _________________

I am with TSSS on this, I think it has to be someone with an influence of the WCO. Although I hate that style. _________________

Dictating who we hire as coach based upon our poor OL play is one of the most ridic things I have ever seen on here.
Hire Norv, let him Callahan and JG figure out the rest. 90% chance we have at least 1 if not 2 new OL starters by next season anyway. _________________

I guess it depends on which Norv we get. The coordinator of the 90's or the current model HC he is.
I think we have become a passing team, so if Norv tries to revert to the play calling of the 90's, I don't think it will be effective.
Don't get me wrong, I am all for N.T. I just don't think that's the route we go. _________________

But why would Norv want to come here? We could have hired him as the HC, but went with Wade. Mayhaps he could have hurt feelings over that and might not want to come here now. Besides, why not reach out to some new blood instead of reaching back into the past and going with a retread? _________________

Well the current NT has coached an offense that has been top 5 in scoring almost every single year.
Before that, he made Alex Smith look good when that seemed impossible.
He is the Wade Phillips of offense. _________________

Turner would be o.k. but I would rather see the team bring in a coordinator with brand new ideas. Turner's system is too similar to what the Boys currently have with Garrett, so I don't think the team would have much more success under Turner.
And with the team's personnel - athletic OL, WRs that can run after the catch, a dependable TE and an intriguing pass-catching TE prospect, and a physical RB that can catch passes out of the backfield - I would like to see an OC with WCO principles. Also, having Romo get the ball out quickly may help him reduce his turnovers and avoid him getting hit often. _________________
