His impact has more been in the run game, but he is also generating a lot of interior pass rush. |

Probably the best interior pass rusher in the league. _________________

Id prefer Geno in the Saints because we need any sort of pass rush, but Vince Wilfork is a better player, so is Ngata. _________________

Love this photo of the Jaguars quadruple teaming Atkins:
In terms of what he is asked to do (shoot gaps and create negative plays against run and pass) it's hard to find anyone playing better. McCoy is really the only 4-3 DT with a case. _________________

Ngata spends most of his time at DE and comparing Wilfork to Atkins is apples to oranges. They both play under the "DT" name, but one is a massive NT, the other a quick UT. |

Agreed...but both are still DTs. Wilfork is a better DT than Geno, regardless of their body type. _________________

That's an amazing shot. I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like it actually. |

When Carlos Dunlap is not in the lineup, you pretty much just have to make sure to block Geno Atkins.
Week 1 (Without Dunlap) against the Ravens, Bengals had 3 sacks. Two of them came from Geno.
Week 2 (Without Dunlap) against the Browns, Bengals had 2 sacks.
Week 3 (With Dunlap) against the Redskins, Bengals had 5 sacks.
Week 3 (With Dunlap) against the Jags, Bengals had 6 sacks.
The Bengals D-Line works best when Geno and Dunlap are in the lineup, so teams can't just focus on one of them... _________________

Geno is a beast. He was taking our O-Lineman to the woodshed last week.
He's what I hoped Alualu would be. _________________

Sacks are the most overrated stat to compare players. I'm not suggesting Cox is better right now but there are still several players many listed already I would take over Geno. _________________

Such as? Geno has more than sacks. He's been almost unblockable at times and is just a great player. _________________

Figured the words "listed already" would have been enough but here you go anyways.

So he's behind Wilfork. Ngata plays 3-4 DE and doesn't spend enough time at NT to qualify, unless we want to count all 3-4 DEs. Which wouldn't make sense. _________________

| Gerald McCoy, Kyle Williams and Brandon Mebane stand out. The Bengals have been the worst team in the NFL against runs up the middle, allowing 5.86 YPC. |
