I for sure think we should activate Smelley and cut Owen. Who will clear waivers and can go onto the PS.
The only thin Owen did of note was whiff on a block in which Trent then had to drag that guy for 5 yards.
I would also consider Cooper for maybe Norwood who had a couple of good plays but some really bad drops.
Having said that he almost popped out on that catach on the last drive and would of gone the whole way had he done that.
Thoughts. _________________

I've been in support of having Smelley. Norwood is what he is at this point. _________________

Mixed feelings.
I don't want the FO to do anything irrational, but these guys are underwhelming, to say the least. _________________

Don't forget that Weeden might have chemistry with Cooper. I don't think it makes much of a difference though.
I was interested in Smelley after I read about the way they used him in Alabama, I was really hoping he could line up all over the place, BLOCK AND CATCH, two things that Owen has been pretty meh at. |

Oh ok. i agree as far as Smelley goes. Own sucks.
Cooper for Norwood is a close one but I would go with Cooper myself. _________________

As the team should have from the rip.
Not taking advantage of the natural chemistry and timing of those two was a bad move, IMO. |

My only problem is everyone always talks up the receivers in the off season and they under perform. They talked about Cooper getting a lot of early looks, but if something could make Weeden comfortable and Cooper catches a few of those passes that Norwood dropped awesome. I'm sure he could have gotten to the side line on Norwoods one good catch too.
Obviously there is a reason they didn't bring those guys up... Too many rookies already. |

Marecic is ineligible for the PS because he has >8 games accrued in his career. _________________

Cooper never once showed me anything of NFL caliber. I say no. MoMass will be back soon and Gordon will start getting more reps. Little and Benjiman are going to keep getting targets bc they are too talented not too. Norwood at least offers special teams ability and Cooper has nothing to offer there.
Smelley yes please. Marecic is garbage. He should have been cut in final cut downs. _________________

Teach Marecic him how to long snap or play LB or waive bye bye... I think his days are numbered. Bring in the hybrid FB Smelley... its not like he isnt comfortable being in a backfield with Richardson.
It's like fantasy sports strategy, you don't wanna get rid of Marecic b/c you're afraid that he'll do well elsewhere. Yet simultaneously you wanna drop him so someone else picks him up only to have him suck on the next guys team wasting roster space... _________________

Yes on both of them. Norwood is obviously NOT going to get any better and Smelley is better than the FB bum we got in there right now.
that is all
