Knight would be our NT. |
And Free, Livings and Costa are still starting? Ouch... |
Costa is a FA and no longer on the team. Our starting OGs would be Cooper and Slauson. For now, Free and Parnell compete for the starting job. |
Livings has been very solid, so I don't see a problem with him starting? Would rather have him starting then Slauson.
Costa played well in his what? 2 and a half games.. just to be clear, who's the starter at center if you let Costa go?
- I like your first 4 rounds of the draft very much. |

I would imagine Kevin Kowalski, who I really wish would have been healthy this year. I think he is the best center on our roster. That may not be saying much, but I think he is serviceable _________________

I think Ryan Cook would maintain the job if Costa wasn't here - he did start most of the previous season but it could be Kowalski who was injured all year IIRC _________________

I agree that other positions are probably more likely, but you have to follow your board. Ansah gets compared to JPP. If our staff thinks he will be that type of player, and he's tops on our board, I would absolutely take him. _________________

You can never have too many pass rushers on this team. Let's have all 3 (Ware, Spencer, and Ansah) on the field at the same time during pass rush situations. Who's to say that Ansah doesn't gain another 10-15 lbs and becomes a regular on the line. Also, how many more year's does Ware have? If Ansah proves to be the next JPP, you find another younger pass rusher and shop Ware in the near future for a mini-Walker deal. |

Ansah really needs to work on his run D from the OLB position, his run D was outstanding from the NT position but the result was no pass rush. Options in the college game killed him and even more in the NFL these days especially when we have to face RG3 twice per year.
I wouldnt take him in the first. Early second at best. We need to find a guy at NT or DE to take the pressure off Ware and/or Spencer or whoever our new OLB is next season.
and I really dislike Margus Hunt btw. He looked mediocre against good competition like Texas A&M and Luke Joekcel. Hes going to be facing offenses like that almost every week in the NFL.
I think I basically cornered out 1st round prediction to DE or NT. What are your guys opinion on the top realistic options for us there? _________________

ya we wanted Brockers last year so it's likely we are looking dl in the first and there are several options this year so we will see. _________________

I'd like to see an all-SEC draft, not sure about an all Florida draft though. I do like the first 2 players (prefer Floyd in the 3rd)
1 - John Jenkins (NT) Georgia
2 - Barrett Jones (C/G) Bama
3 - Sharrif Floyd (DE) Florida
4 - Sean Porter (OLB) A&M
5 - Emory Blake (WR) Auburn
6 - Tyrann Mathieu (CB) LSU _________________

Like it a lot, but you know Oakland will take the honey badger in the 3rd or 4th round.
My take:
Trade down 1.18 for 1.24 plus 3rd 3.24.
1.24- Jonathan Cooper, G/C, North Carolina
2.15-Barrett Jones, G/C/OT, Alabama
3.18-Brennan Williams, OT, North Carolina
3.24-Brandon Jenkins, DE/OLB, Florida State
4.17-Brandon Williams NT, Missouri Southern State
5.18-Nigel Malone, CB, Kansas State
6.17-Christine Michael, RB, Texas A&M |

MH, you need to IMMEDIATELY send that to our front office. That could quite possibly be the best draft in the history of the franchise should we pull that off. It would assuredly be my favorite draft in the history of the team. _________________

Bryan Broaddus recently looked at film of Floyd and loved him. Made it seem like he didn't know if Floyd will be available in the first round by the time the draft rolls around. Said right now, it would be a tough choice for him between Warmack and Floyd.
Needless to say, it seems like Floyd probably won't be there in the third round come April. DL, especially, tend to rise. _________________
