Good
- Palmer fighting hard all game. Made good throws & did his best to get rid of the ball when pressured. Not a good game by any means, but he fought.
- Marcel Reece getting some action with a few nice plays
- Taiwon Jones making a couple of nice open field tackles on ST.
- BYE WEEK coming up. 2 weeks to rest & regroup. Could be a good or bad, we'll see.
Bad & Ugly
- Inability to stop the dink & dunk as well as all of the screen passes by Manning. They did it all game but we didn't seem to make any adjustments.
- Poor execution all around on offense. I don't like Knapp's playcalling, but I hate this scheme more. Complete waste of our talent. Too many 3 & outs.
- Poor pass protection. Denver brought heat, but that's no excuse for the OL to not help Palmer out. Palmer took way too many hits in the 4th.
- Not capitalizing on turnovers.
- Blocked punt. Technically it was a 2 yard punt, but still unacceptable.
- McClain gave up 2 TD's. Looked lost, slow, and disinterested for the entire game.
Offense has playmakers, but it's all moot when the scheme isn't tailored for any of them. Defense is just bad. Injuries are a small part of it, but as a whole, we don't have enough talent on this side of the ball. Denver came out and outmatched us from the beginning. We lucked out in the 1st half, but then it all came down on us in the 2nd.
This team has A LOT of work to do. _________________ (o◕ ‿‿◕o)//

The biggest worry for me today was the game-plan and in-game calls. I fully realise we don't have anywhere near the talent to be competing consistently but I'd like to think we can at least but some of our players in much better positions to compete. I suppose with such a lack of quality that it might still be the best option. _________________

I can't believe how much we've regressed as a run team. I had no clue we'd be this bad heading into this season. _________________

A few notes:
- Raiders allowed 125 points through first four games, an average of 31.3.
- Darren McFadden averaging 3.5 yards per carry this season. Figure drops to 2.4 if you remove 64-yarder vs. Steelers.
- Through 4 games, Raiders defense only has 3 sacks & 0 interceptions. (Yikes) _________________ (o◕ ‿‿◕o)// |

McClain. I'd seriously bench him for Goethel. He's not going to be on the team next year. Slow and just poor overall LB. _________________

Defense is far worse. There's almost nothing there worth saving as far as personnel. The O is just bereft of playmakers and system fit linemen, and saddled with poor execution. |

We have the 31st ranked offense in the NFL bro, think about that. Think of all the bad QB in this league and they have better offense than us. |

You could say the same for the entire defense. Tackling was poor, no pressure, everyone overpursued on nearly every play. Nobody in our secondary can cover and our DLine is filled with overpaid bums.
Id say 80% of the defense gets replaced entirely next year. _________________

So i guess being objective about Palmer is a joke? I know plenty of Qb's who have had better stats, like Jeff George, Drew Bledsoe, Aaron Brooks.
Think about it like this, if Palmer got hurt would we lose more or less games?
If we traded QB with the Broncos would we have won or loss?
5-8.
I didn't blame this loss squarely on Palmer, but he is a high paid QB and our offense sux, i've seen plenty of QB's overcome there OC's like Big Ben even Knapp with Vick and Garcia.
I can't put my finger on it exactly but its not working. |

We don't have the cash or picks to replace 7 or 8 players on defense while also having to fix our Offense. Bracnh, McClain, Houston, Shaughnessy, Wheeler and Burris are all worth keeping and seeing how they do on a half decent defense with a pass-rusher and cornerbacks. _________________
