Do you enjoy our team losing or something? You seem to love saying I told you so more than celebrating victories. |
No, I just hate seeing fans like you cry nearly every Sunday despite it happening for God knows how long. |
Well then your solution seems simple. Don't read most of the posts.
Because it isn't just me. And fans have the right to be unhappy with the way things are right now. For a team so 'devoid of talent', last year we were competitive in most games. This year it seriously has been "Will Palmer be able to pull this one out of his butt for us?". There's reason to be unhappy. |
I'm not saying there isn't but after last week people went on like we actually had a shoot at the play-offs. Win our next game and it'll be the same again while every lose has us drafting top 5. _________________

Not sure how anyone could say that. It's inconclusive either way at the moment. |
Uhh, so limiting penalties substantially isnt enough to warrant some praise for a first time head coach who just took over the most penalized team in NFL history? _________________ First jersey purchased: Jamarcus Russell.
Second jersey purchased: Rolando McClain.

Realistic fans knew this season that this team does not have to much potential. DA has done a good job imo. Our number one problem last year was penalties. He has done an EXCELLENT job of fixing that problem. That is what a real head coach does, something we have lacked for ages. He is a good motivator, excellent communicator and very bright on the defensive side of the ball.
We will get better with time. We have to be patient though. Reggie and Dennis know the weaknesses in this team, and will be very active this offseason. Dennis will get all of this year, and next imo. If there is no improvement throughout the next 2 years, then he will be on the hot seat. But for now the blame is not on him. |
I'm just looking for positives. Penalties? Sure a positive. But just last year everyone said "this defense is talented but Breshnahan is holding them back." This year its the opposite, with a defensive minded head coach.
The team still has no gap discipline, cannot tackle, and majorly collapses in the 2nd half. Maybe the first two are talent related, but collapsing in the 2nd half is a coaching issue which still remains.
We need a spark of some sort. Hue provided that with risky calls. Fake field goals, fake punts, etc. Something to get things going. I don't know what he can do, but he's got to find something.
Obviously Knapp must go. He is just awful.
McClain is also awful. I cannot wait for him to be gone. Seymour is also probably not worth his salary with a couple deflections every few games.
I wish we could have found an impact player in the draft. Our top pick is hardly active for games...
We just had our biggest lost to the Broncos in 50 years. Is that really nothing to do with the HC? The Broncos also didn't punt. At least one side of the ball has to step up. I didn't even realize those 2 facts until they just said it.
We are 1-3. Blown out twice, and beaten badly once. The only win being by a field goal as time expired.
I'm just not seeing anything. We really shouldn't be so drastically worse than last season. |

Both RM and DA annoy me because they'd rather force an offensive scheme in than utilize what we have. Down the road I suppose this is a good choice, although I despise the WCO and defensive minded coaching.
"We're up a score? Time to run the ball and waste the clock."
No thanks, should just pile on the points unless you're up three scores in the fourth.
We can't even get to the point where we play like that though, haha, our offense is bad and DMC needs to be used correctly or shipped out, he isn't a 2.5 y/a back and it's frustrating me to see him struggle. _________________

Eh, that'd be all good and dandy if the team was playing well and winning. I like Allen too, but the result on the field has been poor. You can't say he's done a good job. _________________

No, it isn't enough. The goal isn't to be less penalized, it is to win games. If reducing penalties was helping us win games, it'd warrant praises, but it's clearly not. _________________

Don't be so fast with he fixed the penalties. Last year we had few penalties in the first part of the season then it just got worse as the season went on |

Talent is and continues to be the issue in Oakland.
Denver, KC and SD all got better over from last year. The Raiders went backwards.
Until this team gains some major talent, no amount of coaching will save them. End. Of. Story. _________________

The offense has enough talent to be a lot better then they've been. End of story. _________________

Perhaps. The scheme is ish. But the Oline is crap and the WR are not that good outside Moore. _________________

DA is a first time head coach. There WILL be growing pains. It's inevitable. There's no chance RM gets rid of "his guy" so early. That's not how you become successful in this league.
My biggest issue is the complete regression of the offense. I could definitely see Knapp getting sacked, but you never know with our new FO.
The best way to build is through the draft. FA is nice too, but unfortunately, we're cash strapped. RM has to do most of his work via draft. Defense has to be a giant focus. _________________
