Adds depth to the OL.

| Quote: | Bottom Line
Williams outgrew the NFL path his father laid before him as a defensive lineman (Brent Williams had 45 ½ sacks in an 11-year career mostly set in New England), but retained enough of the tenaciousness to become a vicious run blocking right tackle. Williams is likely limited solely to right tackle because of his height, and lack of athletic ability. He was considered a second-round prospect coming into this season. |

| Quote: | | Williams (6-foot-6, 318) started 22 games at right tackle for the Tar Heels before a torn labrum (shoulder) cut his senior year four contests short. Williams has 34-inch arms and plus athleticism, running a 5.20 forty at his Pro Day with a 28.5-inch vertical. Smart (35 Wonderlic score) and offering upside, CBS Sports draft analyst Rob Rang has suggested Williams could prove a better NFL than college tackle. | per rotoworld |

He finishes blocks. He and Newton will be one of the better competitions of TC. _________________

| Provided his shoulder injury heals soon, he's able to get on the field and get in shape, then this pick could be a steal. He's surely added competition and depth at OT but could also be competition with W. Smith at LG as well. |

he said he is 100% healed and is almost back to full strength
im hoping he can be something special....cant be any worse than our 7th rounder that starter for a year
This means we now will have Brooks, Jones and Williams all of who are either 3rd or 4th rounders. Pair them with Myers and Brown who are locked up for the next several years and we should have a solid offense line for the foreseeable future....especially considering that Wade Smith has a few more years left and Newton can become a swing tackle if he gets beat out for the RT spot _________________
