Eagles sign Williams

Liked Williams coming out of the draft, wonder if we can develop him to be more than special teams |
Williams was a freak in college and he put up good number at his pro day. He still has some potential, it'd be nice to see him slide into a backup LB role next year. |
Who was on the Ryan Rau bandwagon? xD _________________

He was drafted by DAL. It's not looking good for him moving forward. _________________

Colin Cowherd on ESPN Radio hinted at something "disastrous" about Tony Romo and a decision made in Dallas then cut to commercials... its been like 5 minutes and he hasn't returned.
The heck?
edit: he's back but isn't talking about Dallas.
I was hoping to hear about Romo's new 7 year, 120+million dollar contract. _________________

Vick improving against the blitz?
http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/eagles/20121011_Eagles__Vick_improving_against_the_blitz.html
| Quote: | The Steelers blitzed Vick 17 times on 36 drop-backs. When they came with extra rushers, he completed 11 of 15 passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns. He did not toss an interception but was sacked twice.
The week before against the New York Giants, his numbers against the blitz were equally as good - 8 of 12 for 125 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions. Vick's combined numbers against the blitz in the last two games computed to a 136 passer rating.
He had very little success against the blitz to open the season and struggled immensely against the Cardinals in Week 3. Vick completed only 18 of 46 passes for 337 yards against the blitz in the first three games. He did not throw a touchdown or an interception and was sacked six times. |

This is exactly what annoys me about the national media..a lot of them have ripped Vick for not being able to beat the blitz, but he has been good to the point where he has been Top 5 against the blitz of late.
So much is pointed to Vick, but our lineman make stupid and critical mistakes during the game and Vick still produces. Tim Hasselbeck sucks.
Sometimes a blitz just works...if they didn't no one would do them.
However, the fumbles are still totally on him. I'm actually really high on this team right now despite coming off a loss (which we expected). Andy's always better as the season goes on and the defense is doing pretty darn good. _________________ Meow |

That's all I'm asking for...get better week to week...coaches put him in better position when teams decide to blitz us constantly. _________________

I just always wonder why it takes more time for Reid and Marty to adjust to anything compared to any other coach. Why you so stubborn!? _________________ Meow |

I found from my coaching "career" that coaches are just that, I've been to coaching clinics and apart a couple different staffs and it seems to be an attribute that comes with the profession. You coach a certain way until it fails then you try to be subtle in changes to your systems. _________________

| It's not just about blitzing Vick. It's about blitzing Vick with guys that are as athletic as he is. The formula to beating Vick includes sending defensive backs against him. I only recall front 7 players going after Vick during the Steelers game. |

I expect future opponents to do just that. Sending DBs, and more athletics LBs...what I see as a positive is that he's standing in the face of the blitz and delivering the ball on time, so he's seeing the blitz and recognizing where he has to to go with the ball. The addition of DBs only means climbing the pocket to scan...(hopefully the middle 3 Gs,C are funneling guys)
I think a way AR/MM can offset blitzes on the outside would be to swing McCoy immediately out in the flats like NO used to do with Sproles/Bush. _________________
