As crappy as Crocker is at this point, he is likely still better than how Mays and Miles have been playing. I would guess they feel that Iloka isn't ready yet. Same situation with Trevor Robinson not being ready and signing Jeff Faine.

Crocker always starts strong. He just fades too quickly. Hopefully missing camp has saved his body and he can maintain for as long as needed.
