Dorsey plays the run really well as a 5tech, so I think he would play the run pretty well as a 3tech...
He didn't get the chance in the KC D to really rush the passer from the inside between C and G, where we could excell.
He would be a great and affordable addition IMO.
DirtyHarry:
Houston, Shaggy and Bryant are disciplined guys, so is Dorsey as far as gap controll, that's why I think that line would be good against the run.
285-300-300-275 not too small IMO
we tried the 305-315-315-275 in the past with bad result...not only the size matters...you remember terdell sands? _________________ WIN LOSE OR TIE...RAIDER FAN 'TIL I DIE!! |

Should be above average against the run I would think, solid players and decent gap discipline provided. However, where is our pass rush going to come from?? I like Houston and Shaugnessy but they are too similar in regards to solid edge setters and decent run defenders who will occasionally pressure the QB.
I'd be ok with Seymour (if he restructures) and Bryant inside with a pass rushing RDE and Houston at LDE. Shaggy can rotate at both DE spots.
With that said, who do we think could make a difference in the 1st or 3rd rounds at RDE, Björn Werner maybe?? I'm open to suggestions for this scenario......... _________________ “It may take us a short while, but we'll get that nastiness of the Raiders back.”

I know what u mean but Terdell sands sucked lol. I would love a Sammie Lee Hill or a Pat Sims rotated in. And as for Desmond Bryant I still like him at LE in our base d. _________________

Rey Maualuga
We could use all these guys and i want atlest one of them. |
Wait...Rey's a free agent? It's time to finally get him on the team. |
Why? What has he done in Cinci besides busting? |
He would be a much cheaper two down linebacker then McClain. |
If we're going to replace McClain, I want an upgrade. Not a player who leaves us with the same problems. |
It was a joke. I said it because of the legendary thread about drafting him. |
I see. Was this forum in love with him? Rey was one of the more overrated prospects of the past decade. Not surprised the Bengals took him lol _________________

Who the hell are we gonna call up/sign? I just saw that McFadden and Goodson are both out. So we have Jones and Reece? _________________ First jersey purchased: Jamarcus Russell.

So what's the deal with our D heading into the future? Are we going to run a hybrid defense next season, make the full switch to the 3-4, or stay the course? It'd be nice to know before we start targeting defensive FA's.
Jason Tarver is a 3-4 coach right? I have to imagine Allen hired him to at least run a hybrid D. _________________

After his love affair with Gradkowski ended w/ egg on his face he never came back. I don't miss that Russell homer even remotely. _________________

Nope. He left after the season. Maybe it was because of Chaz. Gave him an "omelet face-mask." _________________

Hey! Some of us Russell homers have learned the error of our ways. |
