One thing I've noticed is that two of the newer sports stadiums in the big cities show me that the teams are out of touch with their fan base. Stadiums in Dallas and New York are proof of that.
While its nice to have a stadium that fans want to go to, the stadium shouldn't be the reason fans go to the game, so much to the extent that it takes away from the home field advantage you may have otherwise.

| A giant castle would just look goofy. A large abstract looking Viking ship though, that would be kinda cool. I think a literal Viking ship would look dumb but if they could kind of shape it like a ship in a very abstract manner, might give it some character. |

Only problem being that its not just a Vikings facility.

Agreed, that is why it cant be a direct representation of a ship, but if they could do it in a subtle manner that would be kind of cool. Not sure how to describe the picture in my head. |

it might be a little dark at night too. or at 5 pm in December.
it's just an artistic representation, showing the architect's imagination. it will never happen.

I'm all for them doing some type of geodesic dome-type structure, which might fit well in the small space that they will be using.
I don't know exactly how it would acoustically sound inside, as I've heard there are problems with such a shape because of the echoing, but it certainly would be more environmentally efficient and architecturally more interesting in the landscape than a typical rectangular stadium.

I could not disagree mote strongly. The stadium should be so awesome you want to go there even if the attraction performing in it is bad. That is the way to build a building you want to last for decades.

I largely agree. You dont want a stadium in the middle of know where, though I understand that downtown might be a little tight on space. |

spoken like a true urban planner/economic developer who "gets it."
you want the stadium to be a showpiece attraction, something that draws gawking tourists to it and the surrounding businesses, even when an event isn't taking place in it.
