We don't know anything yet...I believe when they originally applied for the job, they just showed examples of designs for their other projects, not this one. |
I see- I wasn't sure if they were planning on using one of the designs they submitted or not b/c ESPN's NFCN blogger Kevin Siefert reported that both of the designs they submitted had retractable roofs. _________________

Yeah the designs submitted will be reworked as the likelihood of them being in budget too is low. However, Zygi can choose to spend more if he wants, such as for retractable roof. _________________ Gnat's Movie Reviews

As a refresher, I took the rules of retractability off the Lucas Oil Stadium website, in case people were wondering about a home field advantage.
NFL rules for roof opening -- home team determines if roof is to be opened or closed 90 minutes before kickoff (except if precipitation is within the vicinity of LOS, temperature is below 40 degrees, or wind gusts are greater than 40 mph, then roof is automatically closed). It remains open unless there are hazardous conditions (lightning, severe winds, precipitation, low temperatures, etc.) Once closed, the roof may not be reopened. _________________

| Please Vikings, for the love of god (Odin?), make the stadium Viking orientated; It would be a HIT. Make it have Viking-esque architecture, maybe have it like a longhouse. I just love the idea of playing off the name or theme. |

they wont though, the state wants it to be a multi-use stadium so i cant see them being on board with something like that. |

They could still give it some hints of Nordic architecture. |

HKS submitted the second-lowest bid, at nearly $42 million, but the final price was negotiated down. The highest bid, $54 million, came from Kansas City-based Populous (formerly HOK), the designer of the Twins' Target Field, TCF Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota and the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The lowest bid of $32 million came from Los Angeles-based AECOM, which designed CenturyLink Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks.
Along with HKS, Populous and Kansas City-based HNTB were called back for second interviews, according to the authority. AECOM and Philadelphia-based Ewing Cole were not.

I love the exteriors of both Target Field and TCF Bank Stadium. I'm hoping its something closer to those. _________________
