Cowboys Bring In Frampton To Boost Safety Position
| Quote: | Frampton played the last five seasons in Minnesota, mostly as a special teams contributor. He was a fifth-round pick by Oakland in 2007, but the Raiders cut the safety from Washington State in September of that year.
He went to the Detroit Lions for a month and a half before signing with the Vikings in Oct. 2007. Frampton didn’t make Minnesota’s final 53-man roster this year. |

I don't like this move at all. Wasteful. I would have rather grabbed Brodney Pool over this bum. _________________

This guy isn't meant to start. He is meant to play spot duty - and as such he will have a greater contribution on Special Teams. Something were Pool offers little to no value in. _________________

Or...y'know...had Pool and Frampton (two bums) fight it out for the position... _________________

Deal. Maybe they'll mutilate each other and we can cut our losses. Or count our blessings. Either way you want to look at it. _________________

Why can't we just have Cole Beastley play S instead? _________________

Nice. It would be nice if we loved his way, but something tells me we won't. _________________ Northland |

It would be unfair to the rest of the NFL to destroy any hope of parity.
Besides. If we start complete and utter domination of the NFL - we would not have anything to talk or argue about. _________________

Just telling me that McCray is going to get the bulk of the snaps. Frampton is meant to fill in a little bit for McCray on ST. _________________

Calling Eric Frampton a Safety is very misleading. He literally never took snaps on defense from what i recall the past few years. He is simply a special teams player, but he is a great player on special teams.
Even when MN was decimated with injuries last year, he was still the 5th Safety and simply never got on the field defensively. Except in the pre season. |

Well, after finding a hidden gem in Ryan Cook who has been playing at an all pro level for the cowboys, I think the coaching staff is very confident in former Vikings players being major contributors. Depending on whether Frampton can match Cook's beastliness, Rumor has it that we may be giving Dimitrius Underwood another shot. _________________ Quote from May 7, 2013...
