Wow! I love this. This shows the teams commitment to winning games. This is a belicheck move. It doesn't matter what you did in the past, we play the guys that give us the best chance to win. Powell proved to have a bigger leg 2 years ago in my opinion. The only thing moorman had was his directional kicking. It's a cutthroat world. I'm impressed that CHIX had the courage to do the right thing. _________________

Um yeah about that... Moorman was doing directional kicking, because ST Coach Bruce Dehaven wanted him to do directional kicking. Moorman can still boot it, but DeHaven wanted his own guy. Thats how things work in NFL. But Moorman wasnt cut because of the directional, thats what the coach wanted. _________________

He was terrible Sunday. Seems like his punts only went like 20 yards. _________________

Don't kid yourself. He hasn't been punting at a high level for atleast the last 2 seasons and probably 3 seasons. Every single time he kicks the ball he runs off the field, slams his chin strap off the side of his helmet, and throws his helmet off the bench. Im sure the statistics show the decline. I jut don't have time to look until later today. _________________

What's so weird is that I've never known any other Buffalo punter. I'm too young to remember anyone before Moorman. It's just so strange. It's tough to accept that he just doesn't have enough gas left to compete. Oh well, I'll deal with it. _________________ MY PS3 ID: Tyroz21

I have been telling you guys that was the smart thing to do im just suprised it took this long. Yes the guy has been amazing in his career however he is passed his prime and to know that a young guy like Powell is coming in is a great sign he is a beast. I guess the coaches realized that he has lost his edge. The directional punting the average punting yds wasnt great and being 30th isnt good. Bringing in a young guy who had a leg and is cheap shows a good move in the future. _________________

Moorman has been one of my favorite players, but I can understand why they made the move. I definitely wish Moorman the best and hope that he succeeds somewhere else (as long as it's not in the AFC East).
The Bills have had two punters from 1991 until now, Brian Moorman and Chris Mohr.
I thought Shawn Powell had a pretty decent preseason, it makes sense that the Bills brought him back. I bet the punting game doesn't take a hit. However, Rian Lindell and the kicking game could be affected... Moorman was Buffalo's holder. Apparently Powell got some work in at holder during training camp, it will be something to keep an eye on over the coming weeks. _________________

Chris Mohr and Brian Moorman are the only two punters I've ever known. Paul Maguire could drink both of them under the table however. |
