If trades were more common in the NFL, I think they would deal him. Kind of a whiner, injured or migraines, wants a lot of money, won't be happy with Ponder.....but trades don't happen much in the NFL, so I do not think it will happen. _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |

Trades still do happen with a regular frequency, and given Harvin's cheap salary, i dont think that aspect will be an issue. If MN finds a trade partner who is willing to give generous compensation, a trade is very possible. The Vikings probably wont pull the trigger, given how poor the receiving corps is. I am basically on the fence. If a great trade is offered, its something to consider. I wouldnt give him away for peanuts, at the same time, I would be hesitant to break the bank for him given what we know about Percy. A decision has to be made. I dont think the Vikings and Harvin can afford another offseason without serious contract negotiations. We have seen how Harvin handles being disgruntled.
In my opinion, if the Vikings arent willing to give Harvin a long-term contract this offseason, they should trade him. I think there is a lot of potential for this situation to get very ugly if it isnt resolved. |

my views on whether to trade Percy or not are based on details we'll never know - the inner workings of negotiations and his attitude. we don't need to debate he is an extremely talented and versatile playmaker, but he does appear to be on the cusp of becoming a full time diva. which would hurt team chemistry a great deal, as already we have reports players distance themselves from him. it seems even when he is happy, it is short lived.
but i wouldn't trade him for the sake of trading him, and accept a cheap offer. i wouldn't even accept an average offer, it would have to be a blockbuster one. _________________

To be clear, I would prefer not to trade him. But I think they'll listen, and consider it. I would guess that if they can get a first rounder earlier than 20, they'll say yes. Not sure I would, as I think he's awesome, but if Wright can be an average slot receiver, would you deal Harvin for a starting MLB or CB or S or DT (i.e., mid first rounder)?
So I think it depends on what you think of Wright, and what you can get, and if you think he's going to be a diva or not..... _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |

If the Miami Dolphins offered their first round pick, which looks like it will be in that 11-15 pick range, would you accept the deal? _________________

Instantly. But then I'd use money to sign a leigt WR in FA also....
Two top 15 picks and a FA WR, or Harvin and one top 15 pick? _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |

Knowing our Front Office, they wouldn't sign any big-name receiver, they would just try to find one in the draft to replace Harvin. _________________

I don't know about that. Last year there were a number of reports that Spielman wanted to bring in Garcon and Jackson, but both were quickly priced out of what the Vikings were able to afford. Even though, after the Bernard Berrian signing, it's hard to blame him for being weary of free agent receivers. _________________

They had the money for Jackson, that's what a top FA WR will cost. If you won't pay the market, then you aren't really in the market.
They are more than 8MM under the cap, and spent 5MM on Carlson....they had the money, but chose not to spend it on Jackson. _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |
