And here we go...
| Quote: | Cleveland Browns coach Pat Shurmur sent the message loud and clear to wide receiver Greg Little during his press conference today: If he drops the ball he's going to get benched.
"We can't play a guy that's going to drop footballs," said Shurmur.
And Shurmur's not amused by Little's Usain Bolt poses when the Browns are losing and he's not being productive. Little caught two passes for 17 yards and "Bolted" after a 17-yarder that was wiped out by a holding call. He also did the Bolt in Cincinnati and danced in the end zone after his TD while the Browns were losing.
"I can't speak for everyone else, but I've had my conversations with him about that. That can be said. Now whether people see me ranting and raving on the sideline at a player. Trust me, I have my conversations with him." |

So is everyone else.
The bench may be in his near future. _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

I love how Shurmur picks and chooses the guys he wants to harp on and force to earn playing time ect.
So if he drops the ball he gets benched?
What about if Lauvao gets owned again?
What about you pathetic DBs who can't cover or tackle?
What about when Marecic whiffs his next block or drops his next pass?
If you want to bench someone for performance then be consistant. Marecic should be the first to be benched for performence but Hagg is already gone and Little looks to be right behind. If Marecic played as much as the others his suck would be impossible to ignore. And seriously Little's drops are bad but they haven't effected the outcome nearly as much as the [inappropriate/removed] poor DBs. _________________

Little's drops pretty much change the entire Eagles game. We are driving and would at least get 3point because Phil is pretty much money inside of 30yards. Little catches the ball he either scores or is at the 1. If were on the 1 i think TRich will muscle in it...but what does Little do? he bobbles the ball and it gets picked. Getting points could of gave the offense some much need confidence. _________________

what guards could really step in?
If Little gets bench it just opens up more time for Benji or Gordan.
sad thing is Pinkston and Lauvao are our main guards which suck. Also its not like its just our guards struggling. I say JT has struggles just as much or a little less than the guards _________________

yeah im glad he called him out. I think Little is the play that responses to be called out like that...
IMO thats why we dont see others getting called out like Shurmur did to Little, some players response different. I think Little is one who would take it to heart that his coach just called him out to the media. I dont see that strategy working well for offensive linemen _________________

I sure hope so. I think it's a gamble that he'll either respond or get all prima donna and go pout. I'm going to hold my judgments at this point, but don't feel comfortable doing the same with my breath |

Eh, I just watched the press conference. Shurmur's not going to bench Little.
The quotes came from 3 straight questions from reporters, trying to get Shurmur to say that he was angry with Little. He did say that the drops were bad, but that Little continues to work hard all the time.
If Little does get benched, it won't be for very long. This is a manufactured story. _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

Of course.
Tis a problem with Shurmur me thinks.
If I was him I'd get in his face next time he tries that Usain crap when we're losing and he's played terrible all game. _________________

| The coaching staff seems to have more of a sense of urgency, first with Hagg and now potentially benching Little. I like it, Little shouldn't have been getting half the looks he was getting last year. We have alternatives at that position, there's no need to play him just because you picked him high. More MoMass, Benji, Cribbs, and hell Gordon even did a little bit last game. |

Well when everyone and their moms assume Haslam is going to clean house at season's end, it'd be dumb of the coaches not to have a sense of urgency. Theres no such thing as a fricken 5 year plan, just win now. _________________
