The Arizona Cardinals won again this week to move to 3-0 for the first time since 1974. I am going to venture a guess and say that means this is the first time Arizona is 3-0 is most of our lifetimes.
A stunning first half display layed the foundation for a 27-6 win.
Game Ball Nominees;
Kevin Kolb - 17/24, 222 yards, 2 TD's 0 INT, 4 carries 16 yards. Kolb kept the offense on schedule, and his running of the offense in the furst half was key in the big lead.
Kerry Rhodes - A couple of huge hits on Celek, some key deflections and a huge forced fumble.
Daryl Washington - Two big sacks and one huge block on the FR Touchdown.
Larry Fitzgerald - The #1 Target for the day. 9 grabs 114 yards and a score.
James Sanders - 93 yard FR Touchdown.
I want to give an HM to Ryan Williams for finally getting something going on the ground late in the game.
Previous Winners
Week One - Kevin Kolb; 6-8, 66 yards, Game Winning TD
Week Two - Quentin Groves; 1 Sacks, 1 Blocked Punt _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Kerry Rhodes had a hell of a game. I knew we were screwed right when he stopped DeSean Jackson at the goal line. _________________

Looked the game Kolb had and man, D-Wash was all over the damn place but I gave this to Kerry on a landslide.
24-6 vs. 17-13 in the 4th quarter. Kerry Rhodes was the difference. _________________

I made that exact point in the gameday thread, but I could not get past Kolb. We threw the ball 6 times in the second half. Kolb was on a huge pace, but we did not need him to throw the ball in the second half. The throw to Fitz for the TD was beautiful.
Random note - Fitz was targeted 9 times, he caught all 9. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Kolb played an outstanding game, I just think that 14 point swing truly ended the football game. _________________

While I fully agree, I cannot help but think at 17-7 at the half and getting the ball our offense would have been run considerably different.
Also, Kolb so far this season is 38/59 (64%), 428 yards (7.25 YPA), 4 TD's, 0 INT's and a QBR of 108.58. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

An off season in the system and a chance to play with a good defense. I hope he continues to start.
Anyhow Kerry Rhodes played out of his mnind today. I voted for him.
How bout that Quinten Groves kid. May be in the right system finally. |

Groves damn near had another punt block too. He's been a real surprise addition to this team. _________________

Got to give my vote to Kerry Rhodes for what he did at the Goal line. Stoping the TD and getting the fumble.
I like what Kolb did and think he had a very good game but one thing bothered me. All but 6 points came off turn over and short fields. When we had long field we only had two drives that went anywhere and both ended with field goal. The one at the end of the game did not need to be a TD. _________________

Did you watch the first drive? I realize you don't like Kolb and that's cool. Your choice but seriously he only toned it down when the team was ahead. |

And when talking about long down-field work, let's no forget Kolb made a great play to get A-Rob the football for an 80 yard catch and run (Ball would have been at the Eagles 5) that came back on an unnecessary penalty on Larry Fitzgerald. _________________

2nded. Kolb was money today, team took their foot off the throat off the Eagles at the end. Even playing overly safe at the end Kolb looked good.
Good game all around though _________________ Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.

I thought Kolb played very well. Think he should continue to be the starter. I loved what he did in the first drive all the way up to the point were it end in a field goal. That drive was to good to end in a field goal. I just want to see more drive like that all game. I think him and the offense can do it. I just want to know that the offense can get points without the help of turnovers. _________________

Its hard to choose just one person. But Kolb and Rhodes deserve it. But Ill vote Rhodes. He stepped it up big with out A-Dub back there with him.
Also who would of thought(if Im not mistaken) Kolb has been a the player of the game nominee all three weeks so far before the first game of the season. _________________
