San Francisco 49ers (2-1) @ New York Jets (2-1)
VS
VS

After that embarrassing show against the Vikings, the 49ers look to rebound in a big way against the Jets. Harbaugh and co should light a fire under this team and remind that they're a long way from being #1. We're going to be chasing the Cardinals for a while for the NFCW crown, so we can't afford any losses.
Keys to the game...
Balance: We went pass heavy and paid for it. We're not a pass first team, and it's pretty obvious that we need balance to succeed. Using the run to open the pass has always been our formula, so stick with it.
Get to Sanchez: Our pass rush has been non-existent, and we need to rattle Sanchez up and do it early. We absolutely can't give Sanchez as much time as Ponder had.
Protect Alex: This one's obvious. Alex couldn't step into his throws against the Vikes and it didn't look good. Alex looked great with time, so we need to give him that. _________________

It looks like Revis may be out for the season and most definitely out for this game. Obviously it helps and their pass rush is not great. However, still a very good defense that has the potential to dominate the game. Our CBs gave way too much cushion today when only one WR was capable of beating them deep in Harvin. They need to get up on the line like they did against the Packers and Lions. This is the game where Aldon Smith needs to play big. He put some pressure today but needs more of an impact. If we can get up on them early and force them to be one dimensional, our chances will be good. However, if the opposite happens like the Vikings game, we will be in trouble............................................ _________________

Not that it needs to be said, but Cromartie is quite possibly the worst matchup for Moss in the league. With Revis out, I expect big things out of Crabtree and Manningham next week. I'm not worried about the Jets offense at all, Alex Smith needs to play a lot better than this week though... _________________

Yeah, Cromartie did very well on Moss in 2010 but The Freak did beat him for a TD. Still, they have to attack Wilson and the dime back. Smith does have to play better but we need to establish the run game earyl on. _________________

Is the play 30 seconds in the one someone said Moss didn't try on ? What a terrible pass; Moss was open too. _________________

| Quote: | 2nd and 8 at MIN 18 (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete deep left to R.Moss.
Boone sucked on his block of the LDT.. Boone was more focused on zone block and AD's battle that he let the LDT slip on through and pressure Alex into an inaccurate overthrow to Moss to corner of endzone. Alex crushed just after releasing |
This one above wasn't Moss' fault. Moss didn't do much wrong yesterday in what I have seen so far in watching again... but he did do this...
1st quarter... our 1st drive...
| Quote: | 2nd and 6 at SF 42 (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete short right to R.Moss.
PA misdirection.. the throw was no doubt high, but Moss got both hands on it and surely COULD have adjusted to it better in flight. Moss also flattened his route.. he actually changed his own course and made the pass location more difficult than it needed to be. Because it turned out to be a tough catch, I guess it's debatable to call it a DROP.... but it is a drop to me. DROP #1 (this is the pros) |

I think Alex couldve made a better pass on that. He has to step into that throw. yes he will take that hit but the great ones do. to alex credit he wouldnt make that pass in the past. and oldie is right on play two. the effort wasnt great on that pass catch _________________

Revis is out for the year. We better capitalize on their secondary Sunday. _________________

Oh no, not this time. Vikings did the same thing last week and came here to ask for mercy. Not falling for it again! _________________

Revis is out. Let's run it down their throats then hit Moss on PA bombs.
