We won't have CJ2k, but someone that can run. That would be nice...lol |
Week 4 CJ plus Week 3 Locker would be a very nice combination to have...
Throw in a Week 1-2, 2011 Britt...
Now on D... if only they could get consistent QB pressure and a couple of S's that could tackle... then maybe... just maybe we could get a nice run going... |
We need to borrow some coaches and get some leadership too, but you pretty much summed it up _________________

If he gets another 100 yard game this week can we lock this thread? _________________ Adopt-A-Titan:, Kenny Britt & Coty Sensabaugh |

Why would we? The OL finally shows up in a huge way (as far as run blocking goes, anyway) and that means CJ is great? No way. He ran through enormous holes, like any legitimate NFL back would have done. Better than what he's been doing lately, but it wasn't amazing.
Besides, two 100 yard games doesn't erase how awful he's been for a while now. It's going to take a lot more than two of them. |

Arian Foster gets truck sized holes on 1/3 of his carries so why is he so great when he gets a majority of his yards untouched? He has that amazing o-line this year but is only averaging 3.7 YPC, does he suck now? |

I'm not saying CJ is great but I am saying that he's not useless or pathetic or any of these other words we're throwing out there. That running for 143 yards against the Texans is not being useless. Especially cause we were without our QB and top WR. _________________ Adopt-A-Titan:, Kenny Britt & Coty Sensabaugh |

I don't recall saying Foster is great. Do you have a refutation of my claim that CJ did what any NFL-caliber RB would have done in the same circumstances? |

I suppose this thread's going to stay open for a while.
This game was about as clear a demonstration of what's wrong with the way CJ is playing as you're going to get. Watching Peterson run, it's so obvious that CJ just isn't running hard anymore. Or, if he is running as hard as possible, he's just lost the ability (although I don't think this is the case). Peterson runs like a man on a mission, a man with something to prove. CJ runs like a man who is contractually obligated to be on the field. Peterson moves his feet quickly and bursts through the hole, or at least hits the pile hard if the hole has been filled. Even when he's caught in the backfield, he's caught within a second or two of the ball being snapped. CJ gets caught in the backfield sometimes twice as long after the ball is snapped. |
