Good one. But yeah, I don't see the Patriots, or anyone else for that matter, signing him. Just seems like smart roster management for the Jets honestly.
If the reports of him battling injuries are true, no one is going to sign him. Rather than the Jets using a roster spot on him and making him inactive, they cut him and use the spot on someone who can be more useful. If they need him at a later date they can bring him back. For Thomas, his salary is guaranteed, so no harm no foul really. He's getting paid so I don't see it as any disrespect.

He missed last week's game with an injury and was doubtful for this one. This is coming off of him missing most of last season with a torn achilles. It's clearly old age catching up with him, as he only missed 3 games during the first 9 years of his career.

Thomas was on the opening day roster, so his salary was guaranteed. He will be back.
