Piggybacking off of another thread (worst draft pick), I'm curious as to who everyone wanted in each draft since our return.
Did you agree with our pick? Hate it? etc. If you had 2-3 guys you like, list them in the order you preferred.
Here's a list for reference.
1999: Tim Couch
2000: Courtney Brown
2001: Gerard Warren
2002: William Green
2003: Jeff Faine
2004: Kellen Winslow II
2005: Braylon Edwards
2006: Kamerion Wimbley
2007: Joe Thomas/Brady Quinn
2009: Alex Mack
2010: Joe Haden
2011: Phil Taylor
2012: Trent Richardson/Brandon Weeden
I'll kick it off.
1999: Couch>Ricky Williams.
2000: Brown>Arrington>Samuels
2001: Leonard Davis
2002: Shockey>Ed Reed
2003: Eric Steinbach>Nick Barnett
2004: Taylor>Winslow>Harris
2005: Derrick Johnson
2006: Ngata
2007: Thomas>Johnson>Russell
2009: BJ Raji at 5, after trade downs CMIII>Mack>Maualuga
2010: Suh>Berry>Thomas>Haden
2011: Miller>Dareus>Jones prior to trade down
2012: Richardson>Tannehill at 4, Hill>Perry at 22. (RGIII was real mancrush) _________________

99- I wanted McNabb badly primarily because I followed him so close an hour up the street.
00- Homer pick-- I really thought Peter Warrick was going to be elite.
01- Was skeptical of him because of going to TCU but I wanted Tomlinson Really bad.
02- I wanted Shockey pretty bad but when NY took him a few picks before us, I wasn't sure who the heck I wanted.
03- I was okay with Faine at the time... Thought it would help our line quite a bit.
04- Wanted Taylor, he went then I was okay with K2.
05- Wanted trade down for D. Johnson
06- Ngata would have been nice but I really thought Kam had heart and tools to be great.
07- Quinn. Hated the Thomas pick. LIKE Hated it. Hahhaahh
08- None
09- Raji, CMIII after trade down.
10- Wanted Berry thought Rolando but was okay with Haden
11- Had a bunch of possibilities, I really wasn't sure.
12- Trent or Bust after finding out Luck and RGIII were gonna be gone. _________________

99: I wanted Couch, just like the Browns. We were both wrong.
00: I wanted Samuel, then Brown, then Arrington.
01: I wanted Richard Seymour. Didn't really want LT2. Big Money? Blech.
02: I wanted Duckett. We took Green. Both were busts.
03: I wanted Steinbach.
04: Lusted after Gallery. Realistically wanted Taylor or K2. Hated the tradeup.
05: I wanted Braylon, and sadly, I got him. Pretty crappy draft right there...
06: I wanted Ngata, like most. And for a change, the masses were right.
07: I wanted AP. Was fine with JT. Didn't want Quinn.
08: Would've loved Mendenhall or Felix Jones. Turns out we didn't miss too much.
09: I wanted Curry or trade down. I was actually fine w/ what Mangini did. If we stayed, I would've gone Orakpo.
10: I wanted Berry. Then Earl Thomas. Then Haden.
11: Really wanted AJ Green. Was fine w/ the trade down. If we stayed, I would've taken Nick Fairley.
12: Trent all the way. _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

Nope. I didn't think he was worth that high a pick. So far, I'm wrong. _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

I'll be honest, before about 2005 I really don't remember who I wanted.
So...
2005- Cedric Benson (I never really liked Reuben Droughns and thought Benson was the best player) as I recall I also was a big fan of Jason Campbell
2006- I didn't really have a favorite this year, I figured whoever we got we got.
2007- Adrian Peterson
2008- N/A- but I was very much not a fan of Matt Ryan (whoops)
2009- Aaron Curry
2010- Eric Berry or Rolando McClain
2011- AJ Green like a crazy person. Gosh I remember the debates. I had no interest in the QB's _________________

I didn't really watch the draft until 2004 so:
04: KW2 was just so gnarly. He's the first Browns player I absolutely adored.
05: Alex Smith was an insane prospect. I really hoped we traded up for him.
06: Kam was unfortunately another man crush of mine.
07: Joe Thomas was who I wanted as well. I remember my dad cried tears of joy that we didn't select a Notre Dame QB at 3 and then was full of rage at #22.
09: My OSU love prompted me to root for a trade down for Malcolm Jenkins. I actually would've been pumped if we would have took him at 6.
10: Eric Berry was the next Ed Reed. I craved him.
11: I had gotten used to the fact we were going to miss out on AJ Green so I wholeheartedly accepted Julio Jones as the next CLE receiver. I was totes shocked to see the trade.
12: RGIII would've been sweet, but I was just happy we didn't go Tannehill at four. _________________

1999: Donovan McNabb
2000: Shaun Alexander
2001: Ladainian Tomlinson
2002: I really don't remember who I wanted that year
2003: Not Faine. Not Chaun Thompson. And not Chris Crocker. I remember that much.
2004: Kellen Knieval
2005: Aaron Rodgers
2006: Santonio Holmes
2007: Adrian Peterson (no complaints about Mr. Thomas)
2009: Michael Crabtree
2010: Dez Bryant
2011: Julio Jones
2012: Trent Richardson
I just realized that every single one of the guys I have wanted has been an offensive skill player/quarterback. Not sure that's a good thing. _________________

99- Ricky Williams then Couch… Hated Smith and didn't like McNabb that much.
00- I loved LaVar Arrington then Brown would have been my next pick
01- LT and Seymour but I won't lie I liked the Warren pick
02- I wanted Green where we were
03- Was happy with the Faine pick glad we spent something on the OL
04- Really wanted Larry Fitz, Was happy with Winslow when Fitz didn't fall.
05- I wanted Edwards
06- Really wanted Hawk or Greenway… Was content that we went with Wimbley
07- Wanted Johnson and then Thomas… Hated the trade with Dallas for Quinn.
08- No pick…
09- I wanted Crabtree… After the trade I wanted Matthews but was happy with Mack
10- Wanted Suh like everyone else in the country, then Berry, then Thomas, was happy with Haden though
11- Wanted A.J. Green after he was taken I wanted Quinn, or Kerrigan. Was pissed when we took Taylor I wanted Heyward or Baldwin.
12- Happy with Trent wanted Luck super bad. Wanted Reiff, Perry, or Mercilus when we took Weeden. |

1999- I have no problem with couch. I liked him with our 1st but I wish with our 2nd pick that we should of drafted Jon Jansen. should of got a tackle to protect your QB
2000- should of took Chris Samuels since we took a QB first the year before and didnt really have a good LT. I was happy with Brown tho
2001- should of took LT. in three years we should of got our franchise QB, franchise LT, and franchise RB
2002- Jeremy Shockey, i loved him at Miami but when he was drafted I really wanted Ed Reed. I didnt mind the Green pick since he was the best RB in the draft
2003- I really wanted Jimmy Kennedy, he was study at PSU. when it came to our pick I really wanted was William Josepth but I was happy with Faine
2004- I was all about KII that year. I wanted him and we got him. I wanted him or Sean Taylor
2005- I wanted Antrel Rolle, thought he be a stud DB
2006- I wanted AJ Hawk but he was long gone. I wanted Tamba Hall. Loved him at PSU
2007- AP All day but I was happy with JT
2009- Michael Crabtree but when we traded down I wanted Alex Mack
2010- CJ Spiller, i wasnt happy with Joe HAden when we drafted him
2011- I wanted AJ Green or Patrick Peterson but we missed out on both. When we traded back i wanted Cameron Heyward
2012- I wanted TRich., Blackmon, Cailborne, or Tennehill so I was happy with it and the 2nd pick I wanted Hightower _________________

99 and 2000 I was happy with.
2001 - Warren but I also liked Seymour
2002 - Phillip Buchanon and Ed Reed, but I also liked Javon Walker. Heck, I liked Clinton Portis more than William Green. One of the few first round picks I really hated.
2003 - Of the options that were available, I was happy with Faine.
2004 - Really wanted Taylor to fall for us, but I was happy with Winslow.
2005 - I liked several guys in 2005. Erasmus James, Jammal Brown, Alex Barron, Antrel Rolle, but I also thought the only guy we could take at 3 was Braylon. Would've been great with us moving down.
2006 - Wimbley or Bunkley
2007 - Joe Thomas
2008 - N/a
2009 - Hoped Curry would fall to us, when he didn't I kind of wanted Orakpo, but I also liked the idea of trading down.
2010 - Eric Berry, C.J. Spiller were fine with me, as was Haden.
2011 - AJ Green, Fairley, Robert Quinn, then Julio Jones, in that order.
2012 - Blackmon. RG3, obviously, before washington jumped us.
there were some other guys I would have loved to have drafted, but I never thought they would make it to us. Berry/Curry/AJ Green were all guys I thought we might have a prayer of either falling to us, or moving up a couple picks to grab. _________________ Adopt-a-Brown: Jabaal Sheard - Stats:

Me!
And I'm not going to admitt I was wrong either because I wasn't wrong. I wanted J.J. Watt.
Most of the guys I want really really really badly are almost never worth our picks because we always seem to be picking extremely high and for whatever reason I am good at finding the mid-first round talent that exceeds expecations.
I wanted J.J. Watt at #6 and most wanted A.J. Green or Julio Jones or Robert Quinn
I wanted Earl Thomas in the worst way and everyone else wanted Eric Berry, Aaron Curry or Ndamukong Suh(I remember the board actually being upset we one 4 straight to take us our of the running for Suh). Again I won't admitt I was wrong because Earl Thomas has turned into quite the player and in some areas is better than Berry.
I wanted Jay Cutler over Wimbley or Ngata. I thought he was the next big thing at QB. I was wrong. Still would have been a better pick than Wimbley.
1999 :: Tim Couch
2000 :: Courtney Brown
2001 :: Ladainian Tomlinson
2002 :: William Green
2003 :: Eric Steinbach or Boss Bailey
2004 :: Sean Taylor or Ben Roethlisberger(Absolutely wanted nothing to do with Winslow)
2005 :: Cadillac Williams
2006 :: Jay Cutler
2007 :: Joe Thomas(Who didn't)
2008 :: Begining of the year Chris Long(who didn't) then Savage traded our 2nd and 3rd while Long shot up boards to Top 2 status.
2009 :: Connor Barwin(I wanted him and didn't care where we had to take him to get him).
2010 :: Earl Thomas
2011 :: J.J. Watt
2012 :: Trent Richardson(Who didn't) or Ryan Tannehill(one of the few)
Anyone who is saying the wanted anyone other than Aaron Curry is telling a bold face lie. You're guilty until proven innocent. I remember this board drooling over him almost as much as the Trent Richardson love this year. Now all the sudden when he didn't turn out so great after all no one is willing to admitt it. _________________

Seemed like at least 85% of the board wanted Curry. _________________ Adopt-a-Brown: Jabaal Sheard - Stats:
