The Giants have the best pure passing QB in the East, easily the best WR core, and David Wilson has the potential to be extremely good. Their D overall D will probably be middle of the pack, but they should have a solid pass rush and are my faves to win the division as of right now.
prediction: 10-6

The Cowboys arguably have the worst safety duo in the league and I fully expect Monte Kiffin's Tampa 2 to be average at best. Dez Bryant is the most talented WR in the division, but that ain't enough to overcome their QB being Tony Romo, who will undoubtedly blow a crucial game or 2 in crunch time.
Prediction: 7-9

those are interesting to me.

1 - Cowboys receiving targets as a whole are much better than the Giants. Even if its only WRs, ill take our group. Add in 3 pass catching TEs and its not a debate, IMO. Also - Nicks is still injured, so who knows whats going to happen with that.

2. Romo has been statistically better in virtually every season the two have been in the league. Granted, Romo has had some huge stinkers on his record while Eli has had post season success. But game to game Romo>Eli

To me - the Giants success depends on if they can redevelop their pass rush. JPP was awful last year and now they dont have Osi. If their DL plays like it did in 2011, they should be front runners for the division.

Lastly - the division as a whole got off pretty easy this year. I anticipate more wins this season across the board. For example, here is the cowboys schedule:

http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/schedule/_/name/dal/dallas-cowboys

Giants
Chiefs
Rams
Chargers
Broncos
Skins
Eagles
Lions
Vikings
Saints
Giants
Raiders
Bears
Packers
Skins
Eagles

^^^ Packers and Broncos are the only two that we will be heavy underdogs.

I could also see all of those teams (minus the Raiders) beating the Cowboys.

Romo is statistically a better QB than Manning. Romo is also the Leonardo Da Vinci of QB Choke Artists and his regular season stats never translate to playoffs.

Any given Sunday, I guess.

Anyways - here are my thoughts. :Looks through schedules:

Cowboys: 11 - 5 (2 divisional losses + Broncos, Packers and Saints)
Giants: 10 - 6 (3 Divisional losses + Broncos, Detroit, Seattle)
Eagles: 7 - 9 <== Close out the season winning 4 of 5
Redskins: 6 - 10 <== RG3 misses the majority of the year with injury

I know I'm going to get knocked for saying this but I could actually see this scenario playing out:

After Week 4:
Dallas (4-0)
Philadelphia (3-1)
Washington (2-2)
New York (2-2)

After Week 6:
Philadelphia (4-2)
Dallas (4-2)
New York (4-2)
Washington (3-2)

After Week 10:
Philadephia (7-3)
Washington (6-3)
New York (5-4)
Dallas (5-5)

After Week 14:
Philadelphia (10-3)
Washington (8-5)
Dallas (7-6)
New York (7-6)

After Week 17:
Philadelphia (11-5)
Washington (9-7)
New York (9-7)
Dallas (8-8 )

Even if RG3 goes down, I liked their other rookie qb Kirk Cousins quite a bit. He's definitely a step back from RG3, but he should be able to hold it down since Shanahan running games are almost always good and will help keep opposing D's honest and allow for some easy play action and roll out passes. Kirk Cousins isn't the next Steve Young, but I'd take him over Rex Grossman for his leadership qualities, decision making, and toughness. He's could be the best backup qb in the NFCE. Foles has a chance to be the best with better OL play and no more Marty the Tardy calling the O, but I like what I've seen from Cousins more so than Foles as of right now. The Redskins D is the biggest question mark for me. I just don't know what to expect from them since they hardly ever have all of their pass rushers healthy at the same time. Assuming they will be up and down and the Redskins O will be up and down, 8-8 seems right for the skins even with RG3 missing time. They play us twice, they play you twice. That's 4 wins right there.

Prior to last year we had won 3 in a row against them. The have 2 very good weapons. If you take one away (RG3 being injured), I think they are highly beatable.

Cousins looked good last year and I agree with you. Im not hating on the Skins, BTW. I think they are going to be competitive as long as RG3 is there. And I really like RG3 the person and Baylor football player ( Laughing ). I personally see them regressing though due to RG3's knee.

I feel like Shanahan's "system" is finally in place, so they will remain competitive. Especially running the football. And every NFCE team is weak vs the run.

I think you are forgetting the fact that the Cowboys were a top 5 defense statistically until Lee and Carter went down. Up until that point, we were awesome against the run:

Giants - 82 yard
Seattle - 182 yards (ON 41 CARRIES) <== ovi worst game
Bucs - 75 yards - 3 YPC
Bears - 93 yards (on 28 carries, 3.3 ypc)
Ravens - 86 yrds - Sub 4 YPC
Panthers - 112 yards - all RBs held under 3.5 YPC
Giants - 103 yards, Sub 4 YPC

Looks like Dallas didn't play WASH until later in the season, but:

Alfred Morris
Game 1 - 24 att, 113 yds, 4.71 avg, 1 td
Game 2 - 33 att, 200 yds, 6.06 avg, 3 td

Our division is a joke. The Cowboys are "talented" every year and fail to do anything, Giants are easily the most hot and cold team in the league and are pretty much just unpredictable at this point except you know they'll go at least .500, I think Redskins were sort of a fluke team last year, and we're probably the worst team in the division but I'm not writing us off because our division is a joke and one team has to go worst to first Wink

Giants
Ceiling: 12-4
Floor: 8-8

Cowboys
Ceiling: 11-5
Floor: 6-10

Redskins
Ceiling: 10-6
Floor: 5-11

Eagles
Ceiling: 10-6
Floor: 3-13

yeah, we were terrible by years end. I think we were ranked 3rd at the halfway point of the season and we ended at like 25.
