Yeah Cox and Mathis looked good today for the most part. If memory serves me correctly the majority of the big plays that we gave up were on either Prosinski or Lowery.

I didn't think Lowery gave up any big plays. He dropped 2 picks though.

Basically...
- Jaguars look impressive on first drive passing and running the ball but have to resort to a FG.
- For the rest of the first half the Colts and Luck look really good... Luck had 2 TDs overall in the game and had 3 running conversions on 3rd and long.
- Our defense stepped up a ton in the second half and their offense was pretty much a non-factor.
- Blaine Gabbert's 1 TD (80 Yd to Cecil) was with less than a minute left on the first play of the series after the Colts kicked a FG to lead the game. Other than that we had a minimal passing game... I think the exact numbers were like 11/20 175 yards.
- MJD had a field day... I believe about 170-180 yards and 1 TD.
- Scobee was Scobee and Anger was Anger.
- Blackmon still did nothing (though blocked well a couple times) and Laurent got injured.
- Cox and Mathis played good ball.

Gabbert did his best Tebow impression by only showing up in the last minute of the game.
MJD was a great player as usual, he single handedly kept us in the game the whole way through.
Basically Luck was able to march down the field on our D when they needed to. Even when Daryl Smith comes back, they'll need to improve a ton if the Jags are going to compete in most of their games.

| Looks like we are starting to get healthy. Hopefully we can get Daryl Smith and Rashad Jennings back next week. Cecil Shorts do need to start, but I really like Kevin Elliot that guy is a football player. Hopefully this game would be a boost of confidence going forward. |

Although Gabbert's numbers from the game are not good, the only throw I've seen from the game was a perfectly placed 80 yard TD. Can't complain horribly.

Hopefully Eben and Cam come back soon so we can open up the offense and stop being conservative.
Only 1 turnover from the offense (bad exchange between Meester and Gabbert) when Blaine is on the field in 3 games is great to see.
I know people complain about him checking down but if he doesn't have anyone open downfield, why force the ball and potentially turn the ball over? He's extremely smart with the football. He still has a lot of work to do but that's one of the biggest positives with him.

So does every team in the league.
Of course this team has a lot to work on. We should have known that, especially early in the season, there were going to be ups and downs with this team. The new offense, the youth of the players, and the injuries were going to make that obvious.
This, however, is a time for optimism. This team is in an upward trend. Neither this game, nor the Vikings game would have ended the way they did with the team we had last year. That's something to be proud of, even if we're only 1-1 in those two games.
