After yesterday i finally grasped the concept that all of our players were given clean slates and that this year was about player evaluations, not just the preseason, but the actual entire season. So i scrolled on down to the draft thread to see which prospects could help the Raiders the most next year.
Now coming into the season the prize of the draft appeared to be Barkley but considering his measurables and his recent disappointing performances(with NFL grade WR's), i think many are have second thoughts. However, there were a number of other prospects namely elite pass rushing prospects, like Mingo, Jeffcoat, and Jarvis jones.
Also there were great Oline prospects and guard and tackle, but they were big guys who might not fit our blocking system, also there were running backs who might be better fits in the ZBS, and even great CB prospect like Amerson who had 13 int's last season.
So, with a seemingly high pick coming up which position will yield the most improvement? And which player would you like, and think we need to keep in mind we have a defensive head coach and our GM was a linebacker.
We haven't had a 1st round pick in 2 years
I forgot to add TE's and LB's but feel free to chime in a introduce us to prospects you like.

I don't want Barkley. I think we need CBs. _________________ If the Raiders don't trade back at 3, I want Fisher, Ziggy, or Star. |

This is Jarvis Jones
6'2 245lbs
He's a linebackers who can stand up and rush VERY well, very explosive when he tackles and has a knack for turnovers. Right now after his performance vs Missiouri with a clutch Int he on the top of many draft boards, as he is carrying Georgia's defense.
He could help the Raiders anemic pass rush in a hybrid scheme or help expedite the transition to a 3-4. A player like this seems like he could work in any scheme.
This Jones most recent game vs Missouri http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BocaJIeccGc

1 David Amerson NC State - Plysical specimen think Nnamdi 6'3 with 4.4speed and ball hawk
2.Jonathan Banks Mississippi Again big 6'2 with 4.4 speed
3. Blidi Wreh-Wilson Connecticut Another big guy but a tad slower
These guys seem to be in our current project range. Which one would you prefer? |

Quarterback. If you don't have a good one you won't get very far, we don't have a good one. If we seriously upgraded QB we'd be a much better team for us to be that kind of level team we'd need to upgrade CB, LB, DE,DT, WR and Oline tbh. _________________

| Because the lack of a 2nd round draft pick and the chance of a O-line, CB or a QB that could possibly be a draft bust I would prefer they move back pick up some more draft picks and address most of the O-line and CB problems through free agents that are high profile and if they move back in the first round get the best possible player and maybe in the next round get a QB. |

Imo the best attributes for WCO is accuracy and mobility. The reads are usually simple.
Barkley so-so in the mobility department, but good pocket presence not sure about his accuracy, he's throwing to NFL caliber wr's. Geno Smith? Don't know much about him, but he is climbing draft board, and is compared to Big Ben and Freeman types |

Jackson Jeffcoat
6'5 250 4.67
Elite burst, ok strength, and scheme versatility not to bad in coverage, NFL pedigree and compared him to John abraham, who can get to the QB.
He is a article on NFL.com
And youtube of his highlihgts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqskdiipY6o

| Why don't the Raiders bring in Chris Johnson. He's still unsigned. What's the down side? |

Don't know enough about the college QB's to comment on them. _________________

Whoever is the best football player. I dont really watch a ton of college football so I can't really say.
As other have said, we do need a good pass rusher too _________________ If the Raiders don't trade back at 3, I want Fisher, Ziggy, or Star. |

Bjoern Werner
6'4 272
A speed, agility and power guy, very productive projects to very good DE but i'm not sure how he will due against elite LT's. But we could just move Houston inside and thins guy to the right is neccesary. |
