I knew we shouldn't of FIRED HUE

The past two years we were so close to doing some damage in the AFC..
When Hue came in two years ago as OC we were exciting on offense..

We saw the emergence of players like
Ford, D Mac, Valdheer, Wiz, Moore, Bey.. Players were put in position to excel.

Sure Hue made on bad trade for Palmer but he took on gamble with super bowl aspirations..

We all knew he was handcuffed with Chuck B calling the defensive plays. That was AL Davis call, but for the time since the Gannon days our offensive system thrived most of the time..

Consider this
We lost our Qb
Passing of Al Davis
We lost our best player McFadden
We had the worst d coordinator yet we were still a game away from the playoffs..

I understood when Reggie came in he would take control of personnel, but Hue deserved another year as coach..

It sucks when people say we don't have talent, I honestly feel we do. We are not putting players in positions to thrive.

McFadden went from looking like a MVP to an average back. Don't blame the o line, why would we change a successful power oline to a lousy zone blocking scheme .. Atleast Hue had mojo to make tough decisions instead of settling for fields goals and punts

I didn't want Hue gone, but I doubt the dynamic would have worked between him and Reggie. If we just would have kept Saunders as the OC while bringing in Allen and Tarver, I think we'd be in better shape right now.

I wanted to keep Hue for at least another year but I understand the move. It would have been an awkward power structure and they were trying to build from the top down. From some accounts, Hue talked himself out of a job when he started demanding that he be involved in the GM hiring process.

I just wish they'd turn the offense over to Saunders.

Look dude no way would Hue be okay losing all that power. If he was so great he would have been picked up as an OC. Let's be honest this is Al's fault for trying to win now.

Doesn't take a genius to see the ZBS doesn't work here.

Hue is a good OC, but should be nowhere near the big seat with his ego. Thats why even the Jets passed on him.

I too liked Hue & what he did with our team. He utilized our players' strengths & brought the best out of a lot of young players. With a good defensive coordinator, we could have built on last season. Instead, we have regressed.

With that said, his firing was inevitable when Reggie McKenzie arrived. He obviously wanted to hand pick his own guy & start a new era/relationship. Hue's hunger for power was likely his demise in the end.

Nothing we can really do at this point but go through some more growing pains with the new staff & system in place. Sorry to say, but that's the reality.

Let's be honest. Of all the reason's we were 8-8 over the past 2 seasons, Hue Jackson was probably the biggest. And we fired him. I have no problem with Reggie wanting to bring in his own people, but Greg Knapp was about as bad a hire as you could make. He brings nothing to the table immediately or long term. That hiring costs us this season and Reggie McKenzie's first season to establish his vision of the team.
