Most of them were refs for Division 2 and 3 college football, and one of them was even a ref for the Lingerie Football League. I believe all of them had jobs outside of their reffing gigs, whereas the real refs only had that job. |
Wrong!
Real refs have weekday jobs as well. That's why they are in such a strong negotiation position.

Ed "Big Guns" Hochuli is a trial lawyer in Phoenix, I read an article somewhere. |

Isn't part of the problem with the lockout that the NFL wants to make the refs full time and they don't want that, because they'll have to quit their regular jobs? _________________

Yea part of this whole thing is the possibility to going to professional Refs with no other job, the NFL would have an "academy" and train them all in house rather then plucking the better refs from college. _________________

How often do these guys ref? That's not a bad salary considering most of the year is offseason and you'd ref once a week right?
Although in a multi billion dollar entertainment industry the nfl would still be getting a bargain. _________________

Everyone else involved in the New CBA is going to make more money over the next decade. Why shouldn't the Refs? It doesn't matter what they make in comparisons to every day people like you and I but whats relevant to the NFL product being sold. _________________
