Guess the Pats are lucky they signed an army of TEs this offseason. | All of whom are either injured [Ballard, Fells, Shiancoe] or mostly blocking types [Hoomawakkawakka] _________________

Hate to say this, but it's actually a good thing for our matchup against New England. We've been pretty pedestrian covering TEs. _________________

...they still have that Gronk fella, so you're not out of the woods just yet. _________________

Tough injury for New England. They looked bad yesterday against Arizona, losing Hernandez won't make things any better. _________________ Why, if it isn't my old friend, Mr. McGreg. With a leg for an arm and an arm for a leg. |

Blow for New England no doubt, more workload for Welker and Gronk coming. _________________

Who? Doesn't ring a bell.
On a serious note: Gronk is an animal and pretty much impossible to cover, but Hernandez being out does help quite a bit for a team who struggles covering TEs. _________________

YEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now assuming the Ravens are actually healthy come next Sunday, we can shift double coverage over to Gronk without worrying about getting exposed by Hernandez. Though I'd like to have demolished the Patriots at full strength, I'll take what I can get. _________________

I doubt Hernandez had much to do with it. They had almost the entire game to adjust. They couldnt' get anything going on the ground and they refuse to put their all-time leader in receptions on the field. Not to mention Gostkowski looked like he was trying to coffin corner that kick at the end of the game. Brutal. Several people lost their survivor pools on that game alone. |

Yea, I get that But I'd rather worry about 1 of them than both of them.
Also, it would totally figure that Hernandez is expected to be back just in time for the Seattle game _________________

Well if the Ravens are going to continue to struggle rushing the passer organically... getting rid of Hernandez helps limit the liability of blitzing. So... not happy he's injured, but it does help our chances some.
The only problem is the unknown. We knew what they liked to do with their TEs and such, but with a different lineup, comes some unknown qualities... but still I'll take that over knowing the guy you have to defense is a total beast. _________________
