Not surprisingly, Bengals DC Mike Zimmer is far from happy with his defensive showing, hinting Monday there could be more lineup changes.
Zimmer said. "It’s everything. Technique, discipline, effort, responsibilities, everything. It’s a big problem.”
“........We don’t pass rush, pass cover, stop the run, stop the pass. We don’t tackle and play with enough effort.”
Zim pretty much nailed it. I trust him to change it up, with a better defensive showing Sunday in DC. Can they play worse ? _________________ " Democracy is a system where two idiots can out-vote a genius..........." |

I think the new (and hopefully improved) starting lineup will look like this:
Geathers - Atkins - Peko - Dunlap
Vincent Rey - Burfict - Lawson
Hall - Miles - Nelson - Clements _________________ If you're not in over your head, how do you know how tall you are?

I'm sure we'll talk more about this in the Redskin Gameday thread, but I reckon we'll be playing alot of nickel against RGIII, with a 'spy' to watch for his runs. Maybe Mays plays nickel, with only 2 x LB's.....
Zim is going to have to mix it up to try and confuse the rookie a little. _________________ " Democracy is a system where two idiots can out-vote a genius..........." |

As he should be. We're the 30th ranked defense right now. We have given up 71 points in 2 games. Our defense has been a joke and he has every right to bench some people. Our effort on tackling has been bad as well _________________

I hope you're just messing me. How can everyone not see that Geathers is the problem? Browns fans are talking about how great their rookie RT looked against us. Pat Sims would be able to apply more pressure on the QB from the LDE position than Geathers... |

Let's not go crazy now. Sims wouldnt make it to the QB from DE. Too long a run. I'd love to see Still give it a go. |

Ideally, but it won't happen this season. You do bring up a good point about Adam Jones being a starting corner. He definitely needs more playing time. Honestly I think he's been our best corner so far this season. Probably because everyone else has looked like crap.
Bet Pacman would also be a better LDE than Geathers... |

Well, that's fine. But it doesn't really matter. With only 3 healthy DE's on the roster, Geathers is going to play.
And i retract my Clements starting thing. I agree it should be Jones. Clements can play the role of nickle corner/safety (which still sees significant snaps). _________________ If you're not in over your head, how do you know how tall you are?

You are right about Still. My starting base lineup would look like this:
Still (Dunlap if healthy) - Geno - Peko - MJ93
Lawson - Maualuga - Burfict
Jones - Mays - Nelson - Hall
Willing to give Mays another chance. I think Miles is better coming off the bench. Also I would rotate Peko pretty frequently with Thompson. Rey would have a quick hook as well with Muck.
On 3rd downs my lineup would look like this:
Lawson - Geno - Still - MJ93
Maualuga - Burfict (LB's are interchangeable with Vincent, Skuta and Muck)
Jones - Clements - Hall
Miles - Nelson |

Nickel defense
Lawson-Dunlap-Adkins-Johnson
Mays-Iloka
Jones-Clements-Nelson-Hall-Newman
I really don't like our linebackers. They all are terrible in pass defense and frankly not much better in run d. Id trust Mays to cover tackle over any LB at this point. Iloka would give us interesting matchups as well
Gives us a good pass rush on the DLINE as well
Obviously none of this will happen _________________

I really wish Iloka was healthy. I think he could provide a spark to our secondary. Long arms that can be ideal for covering TE's.
Also I didn't want to point it out the first time, but why do you want Atkins to go on a low carb diet? |

teams already run on us out of nickel packages. Not only have 1 DT and 0 LB's and they wouldnt stop.
I agree Pacman should be starting. Hopefully Kirk is back soon.
