We all knew this was coming and Tony Romo will eventually get a new deal. Does this stop Dallas from drafting a successor anytime soon? Thoughts? |
Why would he approach Romo about a contract, when the "window is closing" ? |

I believe the window closing was a shot at being motivational to the team as he wants a sense of urgency with the team. _________________

| I think that the signing will push us drafting a QB back until 2014-15. I do like the fact that our future QB having a couple of years to groom. I dont like the aspect of signing a player mid-season, I think it can be a distration. (And we all know Romo dosn't need any distractions). Offseason is the best option for me, grated that he is under contract thru next year. |

A source from the Cowboys denied any report of any talks about a contract extension with Romo going on currently.
| Quote: | | The last contract Romo signed can void after 2013 and reports surfaced Friday on ESPN that there have been preliminary talks about a new deal. NFL.com and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports via a source that any new deal for Romo is a long way off. |

I love the fact that the Boys have expressed their interest to Romo and his agent about an extension. Romo will be a Cowboys lifer and he's playing at an ELITE level at this point in his career. Forget his age (about to be 33), last year was his best statistical season in his career. Playing-wise, he's only in his 7th season as a starter.... Not about 10-11 from guys that played since they were rookies.
His value is just going up and up right now. I think on his part, and his agent, they should wait until after the season to see how Romo does.
As a Cowboys fan, I'm SURE he will sign that extension. When and for how much is something to be seen..... _________________ Team Romo, Beware of DWare, *SuperStar*DEZ |

When's Romo going to approach Jerry about a new Oline and a new playcaller? Prerequisites for me if I'm Romo. _________________
