1st Round: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
2nd Round: Travis Frederick, OG, Wisconsin
3rd Round: Graham Pocic, C, Illinois
4th Round: Michael Mauti, ILB, Penn State
5th Round: Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington
6th Round: Cierre Wood, RB, Notre Dame
7th Round: Jordan Rodgers, QB, Vanderbilt
Trufant and Rodgers are the yougner brothers of some NFL players you might have heard of...
Eifert could be the tight end we need oh so badly, frederick and pocic are both big, nasty, tough linemen this team lacks, and mauti and wood are just filler picks _________________ ADOPT A BEAR= CENTER ROBERTO GARZA

We don't have a 3rd round pick or a 7th round pick.
We need an OT. _________________

if we go OT we should look on our roster first, then free agency, and then consider drafting. I dont see the bears drafting an OT early on because of other clear needs on this team, and replacing garbage with other late round garbage isn't a very effective startegy.
as far as on this roster goes...carimi is solid, louis is solid, and chris williams is solid. any combo of those three at the tackles and louis/williams playing guard would be ok with me. but then we should still draft another ineterior lineman, and frederick or pocic would be good choices _________________ ADOPT A BEAR= CENTER ROBERTO GARZA

This mock needs more BAMA!

Is this a particularly good draft for OTs? Looking at the site I use, there are only two guys with first round grades (Joeckel and Lewan), and after that it's a lot of RTs. If that's the case, LT is going to be at a premium and getting one will take a high pick, or settling for a guy who's going to need more time to develop. _________________

In this plan who plays LT?
I agree free agency should be first but free agent LTs rarely hit the open market.
In most cases if you want a LT you have to draft them. _________________

If you're gonna draft a tight end in the first round, he'd better be a REAL game-changer. I don't know that Eifert makes a bigger difference in the offense than some of the offensive linemen with first-round grades.
For the time being, we're going to hear offensive linemen projected to go to the Bears. And Manti Te'o. _________________

Carimi, webb, chris williams, louis, or outside tackle from free agency.
possible look
LT: Carimi
LG: Williams/Rachal/Specner
C: Garza
RG: Frederick
RT: Louis _________________ ADOPT A BEAR= CENTER ROBERTO GARZA

Until an OC actually shows he is going to use a TE other than to block then it isn't much of a need at all. _________________

Bears aren't moving Carimi to LT and I highly, highly doubt they're gonna move Louis w/ how he's playing now |

This is true. As long as Tice is running the offense and has a hand in the line, Carimi will be a RT. End of story. It doesn't matter if he played LT at Wisconsin. Tice sees him as a potentially elite road grader RT and that's reason not to move him to the other side. _________________

Louis was not good down the stretch at RT last season and has been playing really well at RG why move him? _________________

Especially not a 1st. We just picked up Rodriguez. Frederick would be a good pickup but I can't imagine him coming out if he wont be a top 50 pick. We dont have a 3rd. I don't think Mauti is athletic enough to play on our D. |
