The team on Saturday promoted both cornerback Coye Francies and long-snapper Nick Guessfrom the team’s practice squad, placed wide receiver Jacoby Ford on season-ending reserve/injured, and placed cornerback Ron Bartell on the NFL’s new reserve/injured list that allows him to return later this year.

Have to wonder if the Kelly restructure was to sign/trade for a starting caliber CB sometime soon.

That's what I was thinking. At this point I just hope we get a blue chip corner in the draft next year

I realized when seeing this that the new designation is really only good for early season injuries. Anyone hurt after week 6-8 can't really make it back in time for anything. 6 weeks IR and 2 weeks practice is mandatory.
I thought it was knee jerk to use it on Bartell, but you gotta use it in the first 6 weeks or it's useless. |
