That WR named Harper for Kansas state really impressed me. I know nothing about him, not even his first name but he looked good. He's a big fast physical WR and most importantly, he's a hands catcher. Every pass he caught were with his hands and arms fully extended to Shield off defenders.

Chris Harper, senior this year.. very intriquing prospect.

I liked what I saw last night with him also. This man is big almost big enough to be a TE but he's a bit on the short side.

6'1 isn't that short. Thats a good size for a WR. Obviously 6'3 or 6'4 would be prototypical but Harper looks like he knows how to battle for the ball and likes to be physical. Now I'm saying all of this with only knowing him as of last night so if someone else more knowledgeable on this guy wants to weigh in, by all means. But from what I saw last night, he looks like a good WR with some excellent skills to work with and I dont think his height would be much of an issue.

I meant short for a TE his highlights remind me of Delaine's college highlights.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1AvospyqjE (terrible quality)

If he clocks in anywhere near 4.35 (I'd be shocked)... and is a natural hands catcher (successfully)... color me beyond interested.

I'm thinking of snagging Sylvester Williams from UNC in a GM mock draft. What do you guys think of him? I haven't watched a ton of UNC football, but he looks to be the BPA right now.

Sly reminds me a lot of what we now have in Ricky Jean-Francois. It is like watching the same player at work. Don't know where you are picking, but I have Sly in the 55-75 range as of now. A stout DL vs the run, but he won't wow you with pass rush prowess. I don't look at him like he's the next Justin Smith, if that's what you are shooting for.

Picking at #61. I wanted Sharrif Floyd, but he got picked up before I could trade up.

What's your TE big board like? I tried moving up for Eifert, but he got snagged too early, and Ertz isn't available for me to draft. I like Kelce from Cincinnati, but I think I can nab him with one of my 3rds.

A very early board, obviously, but it looks like this.. pending some declarations...

TE

1... Tyler Eifert {Notre Dame} 1st rd
2... Zach Ertz* {Stanford} 2nd rd
3... C.J. Fiedorowicz* {Iowa} 2nd rd
4... Joseph Fauria {UCLA} 3rd rd
5... Gavin Escobar* {San Diego State} 3rd rd
6... Dion Sims* {Michigan State} 3rd-4th rd
7... Jordan Reed* {Florida} 4th rd
8... Travis Kelce {Cincinatti} 4th rd
9... Zach Sudfeld {Nevada} 5th rd
10. Chris Gragg {Arkansas} 5th rd
11. Ryan Otten {San Jose State} 6th rd
12. Michael Williams {Alabama} 6th rd
13. Jake Stoneburner {Ohio State} 7th rd
14. Philip Lutzenkirchen {Auburn} 7th rd
15. Ben Cotton {Nebraska} 7th rd

Nice, I'm hoping to steal Fauria. I liked what I saw from him at UCLA.

Me too... very good receiving weapon. Not the best blocker, but he can do the quick chip/wall blocks that we got out of Walker, so...

So if we're looking to replace Walker, what should be the type of TE to replace him with? Do we go all out for a receiving TE and sacrifice blocking or go the opposite? We know Vernon is good at both blocking and receiving so maybe we should go with the opposite of Celek.

Personally, if Walker is willing to resign at back up money then we should do so. If he is adamant about being a starter somewhere else then by all means, go get your money bro.

Better for me to not pretend to know what our HC has planned for the offense. I am less inclined to retain Walker. He would have to take a short deal lesser than 1.5 mil per for me to really want him back. VD is good and Celek is good as a #3 that can push for #2 with someone else. Me? I'd go right after the best (Eifert + Ertz), but you are asking one of the bigger Fleener advocates that wanted an explosive TE weapon to play along with VD. If a TE like Fiedorowicz actually declares, he would be a good option that can block well and is a better receiver than credited for. We could also bring back Walker and not touch the TE position and I wouldn't really give a damn... just not that big a deal, I guess.

Love it! He's my offensive hope at our first pick, and Sheldon Richardson on defense. Either or.

But both might be gone and I will have to get over it quickly.

haha, i'd love Richardson, don't see any way he falls, though. Don't want Eifert mostly because I want to spend our first rounder on defense.

I may have 'multiple' draft crushes this time...missing out on the one I had last year still stings. I was so certain he would be our 1st rounder...

Anyway, the guys thus far I would be ecstatic about if we drafted them would be Ertz and Thomas from Stanford and Trey Millard from my own Sooners (if he were to declare).

I havent watch a single regular season game of CFB, so who are some good RB's that fit the "Gore" role for us? I have heard this draft is stacked at the RB position.

I like the way Bell runs, but his workload was so heavy at Michigan St he might break down in 3 years.

I know people still think Gore will play at this level for 1-2 more years but I really think he is going to hit 30yr old wall. And I want to be prepared.

Our loss, my sooners' gain, I guess! Confused

Chris Harper from Kansas State getting looks from this forum, huh? There is one WR currently in the NFL from K State that is pretty good...the 2nd WR picked in '08: Jordy Nelson. Cool
