The stud among the Utes defensive line is Star Lotulelei, but Kruger offers strength on the edge. He could project as an end in a three man front, a position that is usually drafted earlier than expected. He led the team with six sacks in 2012 and has NFL pedigree. |
Someone I'm very interested in. I has impressed watching Kruger and think that he could be that replacement end we've been talking about. |
We should draft Joe and his brother Dave, who is a senior. Nothing beats a little brotherly competition! I know if I were fighting for a roster spot with my brothers, I'd do anything to win. _________________

Perfect plan. Family reunion, and it happens to fill needs. All we have to hope is that they pan out faster and better than the last Ute we brought in... _________________

And Lyerla. Dude's a beast. Oregon doesn't use him nearly enough or he'd be a sure fire first rounder next year. _________________

Lyerla is a freak of nature. Gimme DAT too
I haven't seen much of Joe Kruger yet, but he seems like a solid option.
I think we will draft Jeff Tuel late/sign him as a UDFA. Developmental QB and his college coach was Paul Wulff. Just kinda throwing that out there _________________

That WR named Harper for Kansas state really impressed me. I know nothing about him, not even his first name but he looked good. He's a big fast physical WR and most importantly, he's a hands catcher. Every pass he caught were with his hands and arms fully extended to Shield off defenders. _________________

A few guys I've been drawn to the more I've watched them....
Xavier Rhodes CB FSU-Fits what we do to a T on defense, big physical specimen who can run and isn't afraid to mix it up. We develop him to be our starter across from Cully in a couple of years.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sw9oHp46Yqs
Joe Kruger DE Utah-Super athletic for his size and can handle double teams, he could be that guy we've been talking about, Justin's heir-apparent.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNUc_waKMrU
Da'Rick Rogers WR Tennessee Tech-Absolute monster after the catch, who doesn't can make the tough catch in traffic and could be had a little later due to some off the field issues.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yODL-GxDseM (2011 Tape)
Kyle Long OL Oregon- Stud run-blocker that could develop into our swing lineman and take over for Leonard Davis as our extra lineman in our jumbo package.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzB7K8JhFZw (#74)
Quanterus Smith OLB WKU-A pass-rush specialist we could rotate in and develop as Aldon's backup.

Just found out that Marquess Wilson left school and is headed to the draft as well. He's a very talented receiver that could be excellent with some coaching.

I liked what I saw last night with him also. This man is big almost big enough to be a TE but he's a bit on the short side. _________________

6'1 isn't that short. Thats a good size for a WR. Obviously 6'3 or 6'4 would be prototypical but Harper looks like he knows how to battle for the ball and likes to be physical. Now I'm saying all of this with only knowing him as of last night so if someone else more knowledgeable on this guy wants to weigh in, by all means. But from what I saw last night, he looks like a good WR with some excellent skills to work with and I dont think his height would be much of an issue. _________________

I'm thinking of snagging Sylvester Williams from UNC in a GM mock draft. What do you guys think of him? I haven't watched a ton of UNC football, but he looks to be the BPA right now. _________________

Sly reminds me a lot of what we now have in Ricky Jean-Francois. It is like watching the same player at work. Don't know where you are picking, but I have Sly in the 55-75 range as of now. A stout DL vs the run, but he won't wow you with pass rush prowess. I don't look at him like he's the next Justin Smith, if that's what you are shooting for. _________________

Picking at #61. I wanted Sharrif Floyd, but he got picked up before I could trade up.
What's your TE big board like? I tried moving up for Eifert, but he got snagged too early, and Ertz isn't available for me to draft. I like Kelce from Cincinnati, but I think I can nab him with one of my 3rds. _________________
