Didnt realize we play 49ers this week. We played them hard last year, and if our defense can stop their run and get 1-2 turnovers, then we can easily win this game. If not, then Matt will have to explode. Their game is all about ball control, TOP, stout defense, and having short 3rd downs. If we take away 1 of those things, we'll likely lose, if we take away 2 we can definitely win it.

You really think they can score that much?

On this defense . . . yeah. I think they'd rather just run the ball and play defense to keep the clock moving than run the score up, though.

This just might be the best team we face all year and it's on the road so it's going to be very tough. I know Schwartz is going to have his guys pumped for this one, but I think we come up short in this one as that 49er defense is just unreal. It's also is scary that their offense was really clicking against the Pack.

Lions- 24
49ers- 34

Sure, I think they can. Will they? Who knows but with enough possessions they're going to score a large number of points on this defence.

41 pts?
I would wager that if the 49ers score 41 pts Smith will have been hospitalized due to the Lions D line teeing off on him. The D has played the run well so far this season so it would be the passing game that puts up those kind of points.

An extremely tough road game however stacks up against the Lions and once again it comes down to the final few seconds with Jason Hanson kicking a 47 yard FG to get the Lions out of Dan Fran with a hard fought win.

Detroit = 20
S.F. = 17

Niners-35
Lions-31

I expect us to keep it close. It depends on injuries but they have so many receiving options that our secondary is going to be struggling all day.

I expect Stafford to get back on track though and keep us in this game.

Depends on what Stafford shows up.
The good Stafford: Lions 24 San Fran 21
Stafford from the Rams game: Lions 10 San Fran 30

*Key to the game- We have got to score early and develop some sort of lead. I do not want to get behind and have them pound us with Gore. If we can get 2 or 3 first half touchdowns and we force them into throwing the ball we will win this game.

SF will take much better advantage of the turnovers if they do occur.

This isn't the Rams offensive line is it. The Niners allowed two sacks playing in Ford field. I'm not liking the Lions Dline chances in San Francisco.

The only way the Lions hold San Fran to 17 points is if Gore, Davis and Smith are hurt in the first quarter.

The Niners probably won't put up 41 points but it's highly unlikely the Lions win in San Francisco. I really don't think it's going to be very close. Currently the Lions are 6.5 point dogs.

I hope you're right though if I recall the Lions were up by ten at home last year.

From all I read about their last game, the refs handed them the game on a platter. If only GB would have got some calls they would have won easily. So given that I am taking the Lions. I do think it will be close. I think if we score 20 we will win.

I don't know. I watched that game and bad calls went around. From what I saw SF handled GB. It looked pretty clear they were the better team and if you weren't told the score you might have thought GB lost by 3 TDs.

Maybe this will help, the only place I read about the game was the GDT in the GB forum. (it was sort of a sarcastic post)
