we were good against the Dolphins last week, but we didnt dominate in every area, i would say we won the D battle and the O battle but we lost the ST battle and thats something we need to get fixed before it comes back to bite us in the butt
Jacksonville got pretty banged up sunday, but i think Gabbert showed he is a different player than he was last season....our Division could look scary in a few years with Gabbert, Locker and Luck out there but i think we win this game for sure. I think our Defense steps it up again and we come down on them hard.
They struggled on Defense against a young QB in Ponder and a fresh off injury Adrian Peterson giving up 389 yards of offense and i think we can replicate that with no problem
the scariest part of their offense is the run game and they only averaged 3 yards a carry sunday and i think we can hold them to around 100 yards
worst match up for us will be Blackmon vs Jackson
ill give them 17 points just because the game is in jacksonville, but the final will be something like 41-17 _________________

My prediction:
JJ Watt v. Eugene Monroe - trash tackles
JJ Watt v. Guy Whimper - 10 sacks, 4 passes deflected, 1 Gabbert soul _________________

Looking doubtful right now. So probably not.
Jennings, Uche, Britton also questionable, leaning towards not playing. _________________

Trindon Holliday will take a kick to the house on the opening kickoff...and those will be the last points scored by the Texans in this game. The new look Jags will out-physical us, Blaine Gabbert is good for a safe, efficient game and MJD should be good for about 195 total yards of offense and about 2 TDs.
Jags, 17-7. _________________

I'd be satisfied if he just reached the 20 for once.
Although I suppose anything passed the 5 should now be seen as a plus. _________________

Sadly, biggest concern for me right now in the game is the weather. Looking like the game is going to be played in a Thunderstorm which can be a great equalizer. We seem to have found just about every creative way to lose against inferior Jags teams over the years and a swampy mess seems to me to benefit the Jags greatly. Our speed advantage on offense and defense would get neutralized, Foster's cutback effectiveness diminished, and I absolutely hate the idea of all those Jags big bodies falling on ours in the rain, especially a certain slowish $15 million QB with a foot issue. I hope the Texans are integrating some straight ahead running from Tate and more dumpoffs to Casey into the gameplan this week to keep Schaub clean. MJD may not have the burst back yet, but tackling that bowling ball in the rain scares the crap out of me. Absent the elements, the Texans hold every advantage in this one, but we have in most seasons since 2006, yet Kubiak has only won twice in Jax (06 & 11). I'm also a bit worried than Antonio Smith is already amped up from the Richie Cheapshot-ito crap from last week and the Mincey/Knighton cry fest last year. I predict an UGLY mess of a game in more ways than one. _________________

I was thinking the same Apollo, but they've actually pushed the rain in Jacksonville back a day. Sunday should be dry *knock on wood* _________________

Antonio Smith practiced today and is going to play Sunday. Bryan Braman is still questionable and will be a gametime decision Sunday. _________________

More random things that scare me about this game.
1) We are +7 favorites on the road. Although I could never bet against the Texans on principle, I may have to give my wife the kids college fund to bet on this one as a Kubiak coached team should never be this highly regarded on the road in the AFC South (4-14 all-time).
2) Gary Kubiak is shooting for .500 in his career (48-49). He's never made it before.
3) Jag's owner Shad Khan's 'stache...
