It's pretty big--it's easily State's biggest rivalry. It was once much bigger, but UNC's recent run of success and NC State's recent lack of success have kind of suppressed it. But in the early 90's, the programs were roughly equivalent as far as historical success and prospects for the future, as hard as that is to believe. And it looks like the rivalry will heat up into the future.
Honestly, I didn't think NC State's team this year would meet expectations because of their lack of depth, lack of outside shooting ability, and the unrealistic expectations set for them. But I didn't expect them to be this bad. Thy've improved from last year, but they're not a good team. No one outside of Scott Wood has a dependable 3, no one even tries to defend most of the time, CJ Leslie is more inconsistent than ever, their half court offense isn't great, and Gottfried cannot motivate them. It's frustrating. I said when State hired Gottfried that they settled for mediocrity, and I thought last year proved me wrong, but it looks more and more like we did settle for mediocrity.

I don't know if any of y'all saw the end of the Baylor - Okie State game the other day, but that's one of the worst calls i've ever seen. Sucks that it probably kept Baylor out of the tournament.

We have gone from a 2 seed to an 11 or 12 seed in 2 months. It has been so frustrating to watch this team fall apart.
On the other hand, our hockey team is doing really good. If any of you have never watched hockey, look for the NCAA tourney in 2 weeks. Its awesome to watch. |

We lost by 2  ((((( 27-4 and not going to sniff the big dance. I hate the way ,I'd-majors get treated.....oh we'll off to the NIT.

our hockey game tonight was the best we had all year. Scored 3 in the 3rd and the winner with 50 seconds left! |

| We got an 11 seed. I wouldn't be surprised if we make a run based on who we would have to face. We match up very well against our region and they match up terribly against us |
