With Saints winning appeal, suspensions are voided as Roger Goodell doesn't have jurisdiction and Stephen Burbank does.

Great news. I know this is completely separate, and handled by different people, but I wonder if this will lead to anything with Payton's suspension as well.

Doubtful, it may not even do anything other than delay the player suspensions.

I hope that this does not hurt Payton's case for NEXT season. I think that this is personal for Goodell. I am concerned that he will try to take back what's lost by taking it out on Payton's ability to return NEXT season. I also wouldn't count on getting back next year's 2nd rounder.

If he did that then he actually might be in some hot water. I could see him doing it to Williams because it was an indefinite suspension.

I don't see a way he could add on to Paytons suspension.

Agreed.

Huge news. Vilma is a hero amongst NFL players right meow.

Well if the Saints weren't hated before, they are now.

Good news is we have a full team right now.

Vilma-Lofton-Hawthorne

Pretty good if you ask me Very Happy

The amount of trolling on the news thread is nuts. I wonder if there is a chance we can get Payton back.

I hope there is no retaliatory incidents from this misappropriation of justice. I would personally see to it, if someone tried to intentionally hurt my QB, that he have an unfortunate injury. Especially since the NFL cannot police their players and there would be no suspension for what I did to them. I wonder if ya'll will see more flags and games getting chippier.

We'll definitely get that 2nd round pick back, and we'll definitely get Payton back. Goodell basically said if we behave ourselves we will get both back.

Payton isn't coming back this season. No chance. No way, no how. Wink

He was talking about next season.

Payton is pretty much a guaranteed unless he gets caught talking to someone he shouldn't be. The 2nd isn't definite though, not by a long shot. Not after Vilma drug Goodell into court and basically had his authority challenged. That pissed Goodell of and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't give the 2nd back now.
