I haven't been following but I still don't buy any of it. I think Manti was involved and now he's just having his tracks covered. This is based off of almost entirely nothing, but still.

I actually can believe that Te'o is innocent. I've seen things like that happen. Guy gets infatuated with a girl he's never met, lies to family and friends, pretending he has actually met "her", just not to look like a complete idiot, just to see it blow it in his face. If Te'o isn't in on the hoax, it still sends a bad signal to potential teams who want to draft him. Manti is either a pathetic liar, or pathetically naive.

He's both. Got tricked into that for a couple years and then when he found out it was a hoax, lied and made up the death story in an attempt to build himself up to win the Heisman. I want nothing to do with Teo, even if he doesn't get drafted.
